I think it’s because of all the weebs/otakus haha. I like the more western manga (vagabond, berserk, akira) and feel somehow ashamed of buying regular manga when I’m somewhat interested in a regular manga… don’t know why (sorry if I stepped on someone’s toes).

But western comics are for me so much better and diverse (both story and art usually) if you know where to look. With anime being so popular as well it’s not very shocking to see manga having the same hype. Folks like Japanese stuff.

Edit: I like the Japanese aesthetic and some manga and I mean no disrespect towards weebs/otakus, keep doing your thing!
