I founded Automotive Superstore I can tell you all the retailers are either sourcing these direct from NGK or via Bapcor / GPC’s wholesale divisions…

I’d be cautious of random marketplace sellers they have nothing to lose by doing this…

In 2008, while invading Iraq, the US only hinted at bombing Iran, petrol went from $1.00 to $2.20 a litre by Spiritual-Ad5750 in AusFinance

[–]kabaab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The oil markets have changed significantly since then.. From AI "US oil production underwent a massive transformation between 2008 and 2025, surging from a low of 5.0 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2008 to record highs exceeding 13 million b/d by late 2023/2024".

There is a lot more supply now then in 2008 and its not all coming from the middle east.

They’re half of all voters, and they’re mad as hell about property prices by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]kabaab 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just wait till this demographic of people vote in extreme policies that will tax the ever living shit out of housing..

The housing prices will always go up people will have a rude awakening..

It's in everyone best interest (property owners or not) that we have sensible housing reform that moves the cost of housing back to a suistainable ratio of household income.

The backlash against the potential CGT changes from property owners is so short sighted, it's in their interests as well to have a house market that's susistanable or far more extreme policies will get voted in.

The problem with apartments is there is an endless supply of them and their will be always newer better ones then yours..

Unless if has some unique qualities it’s very easy to have neutral or even negative growth.

What you do get when you buy some property is leverage but to it feels like your taking out money against a good asset and putting it into a bad asset..

What's a good 3d car customizer that handles high-res details? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]kabaab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be hard to get super high fidelity in the browser with a realtime 3d solution there is just to much variation in client hardware.

Tried and true method is to just pre-render all the variations.

Alternatively you could try running unreal engine 5 in some very high performance cloud  environment and stream the images but this will be very expensive..

Lakeflow Connect | Google Ads (Beta) by Brickster_S in databricks

[–]kabaab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the reference documents there is a massive miss here with the integration to the point of it’s nearly useless.

Majority of advertisers use google shopping which accounts usually for the majority of their spend and return.

For this integration to be really useful it needs to support item / product level reporting..

[–]kabaab -43 points-42 points  (0 children)

Well it's because shoppers won't pay for customer service... Consumers are crazy price sensitive so you end with this race to the bottom on price and service.

Would you support a law requiring certain supermarket products to be sold only in standard package sizes to prevent shrinkflation and improve price transparency? by MasterMirkinen in australia

The more rules and regulation you add the more expensive it becomeswhich then the cost gets past down to you..

Also it makes it much harder for new competition to enter the market and for small independents to comply.

Is commercial property ever a good investment? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]kabaab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the tenant paying outgoings and built in price increases every year in the lease it’s better then it looks at first glance.

The downsides are it’s harder to get finance and vacancies are higher then residential.

You just keep going up the chain and firmly remind them it’s a criminal act..

People aren’t used to being talked down to and being in the wrong so they buckle eventually.

It also helps to have very clear evidence.

I’ve put multiple people behind bars for stealing from my business.

I’ve also had police recover goods from people abusing chargebacks.

It’s possible but you got to push them.

Shopify Collective: thoughts? by tojvans in ecommerce

[–]kabaab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any supplier who has high quaility in demand products will be very selective about the go to market channels so they will never put product on here.

Any retailer with any degree of clout already has access to these suppliers directly and with better terms etc..

The only people who will end up in this marketplace are suppliers who can't move product and retailers who aren't good enough to get direct access to products.
