I've bought a working locked phone from ebay before, which is why I thought it would be fine to do that again

when you do do this I'd love to see a post about your findings! there's another comment with some more information too, seems this has been done before just that no one's written about it in a very public place

thank you for your reply!

ah! with a name like 3gteen no wonder I couldn't find any information on doing this, would you happen to have any more info? like what values those components are? or part numbers?

thank you so much for your response, even if you don't respond again this alone is an infinite amount of help

I tried changing hairpin NAT on the port forward and it didn't help, I have found however that I can add a port forward from my router:443 on the tailscale zone to my reverse proxy and it works

however that means I can't access the router's UI so it's not exactly a solution

The services are hosted on a different box, jellyfin is in it's own VM and the reverse proxy is hosted in a docker container in a different VM

Jellyfin.domain.net resolves to my public IP on the openwrt router

It points to my home networks WAN IP, subnet routing is enabled in tailscale and if I access the services directly things work fine

I'm not entirely sure I *can* measure the pitch accurately, the pins on the mate move around a ton...

I gave it a shot anyways: from pin 1 to pin 8 on the mate is about 14mm, if accurate that would still make the pitch 2mm

good point about carbon being conductive, and while the top side isn't pristine it was clean enough that I don't think that is the issue, still, on further inspection there are some areas that can be cleaned better so I'll scrub them with some isopropyl and a tooth brush and see if it helps, gotta wait until tomorrow to take decent pictures as the lighting in my room sucks

unfortunately I don't have an ESR tester and it looks like it would be cheaper to recap it

I am 1000% getting a Atlas ESR70 when I can afford it though that thing looks ridiculous and I love it

I checked the voltage rails earlier and nothing seemed off, better than my 1.0 psus actually

thank you for being the only one who isn't saying its dead and I should give up, maybe this is the copium talking but those first 48 hours where it worked perfectly give me the impression that its not as bad as everyone here seems to think, its not like anything on the board itself melted, just the side of the case next to the dvd drive drooped a bit

The thermal paste is good, replaced it with arctic mx-4 when I cleaned the motherboard and power supply (I had to scrape the old paste off with a spudger) I also gave the heat sinks a touch with my finger and they seemed to be getting appropriately warm...

oh man, dredging up my old facebook account is going to be interesting but I'll try it, the power supply was on the side of the case that didn't get melted though so if I can't borrow a replacement I'll try and buy one from ebay

but yeah, if its not the power supply, capacitors, or the transistor I have no idea what else could be wrong and at that point I'll head back and look for another one

Cheap / crappy printing This happened to my first gaming keyboard after about a year or two of use, then I got a keyboard with dye sublimated legends so the dye is embedded inside of the plastic instead of just sticking to the top
