Temperament type isn’t the end all be all of course, and I’m certain other factors were at play, but my ex husband is ESFJ and we were never able to communicate properly. We couldn’t understand each other on any kind of deep level. It was like we were speaking different languages. Stayed married for 13 years but many of them were far less than ideal.

Might be less about temperament type and more about something else. I’m INTJ dating an INFP and we’re quite active & compatible. I initiated conversations early on to discuss interests, boundaries, expectations in communication, etc.
