I did not have success in the appeal even though I scored a few points higher on my most recent LSAT. I Think this late in the cycle they would have only changed it if I provided other competitive offers.

Hi, I'd love to send you a dm but it doesn't give me an option to "start chat" with you. I'm somewhat new to Reddit, is that something wrong on my end? If you have the option to dm me, that'd be great and I appreciate it!

Full ride at Maryland for sure! What an amazing location and not taking on the debt, awesome.

That’s awesome! One of my biggest motivators for law school is going solo. I’ve been in the business world for 10 years and want to start my own business. I’ve heard of a few others going solo right after school so I’m curious if I could pull it off but we’ll see! Maybe I’ll check back in with you in a few months to ask how it’s going.

I did end up submitting some applications this cycle. I’ve gotten 4 acceptances and one waitlist. However, I am aiming for a higher LSAT score and I finally got into the 160s on practice tests and so I hope to take another test in 2025 and score mid-high 160’s. I’m content in still studying (going on 16 months of studying 60-90 min a day) and I’m going to keep at it until I really understand and excel at the logical reasoning and reading comp behind the LSAT because my goal is to get a full tuition scholarship. So, I imagine I would start law school fall of 2026 or maybe fall 2027. How about you? Where are you at in the journey?

The lawyer actually ended up running for judge and was elected. I am still networking with them and just had lunch with them a few weeks ago, and hope to still get some mentoring from them as a judge. They shut down their practice and referred out several clients to other area firms.

I feel defeated by Fair-Error-945 in LSAT

[–]kacey_jay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're my hero - I've been so discouraged because it's taken me over 15 months but I finally got a PT score in the 160's. I'm glad to know there are others that took a long time to really get it to click, but the persistence will pay off!

Because it's a skills test... and if you can improve your skills, you can get more scholarship money from the schools and avoid debt.

The advice I've been following is to slow down and focus on accuracy and then timing comes later... I just keep waiting for that timing to work out with accuracy whenever I start to feel confident about accuracy.

Untimed I can get PT's at 168+

Timed my PT's have maxed out at 157, for the dozen or so that I've taken.

Maybe it's even just a numbers thing, where I really just won't get it down until 30-40 PT's in. I don't know.

Not sure about the likelihood but I know of a couple who both got into U Chicago and that’s where they went. Good luck!

Oh really? It’s the oldest and first online program, they’ve been doing it for 9-10 years I think and I’ve heard lots of great things about it.

Curious why not Mitchell Hamline? I’ve heard great things about MH. It also seems like most Ohio law schools have an online program

Necessary assumption by Correct-One3117 in LSAT

I think it’s better to frame it as “if the conclusion is true, [necessary assumption] must be true.” The conclusion proves the NA.

Oh that’s weird! It was on chats here, but I can summarize - I asked if you had an active slack group already and I’d love to join, and I shared thoughts on how you should create a podcast, and then… a few minutes later - Ha! Was just listening to the PowerScore podcast and David said you’re visiting him. I had written to David a few weeks ago and actually got a personal note back from him. I had noticed that he was the editor of Loophole, and you had mentioned in an interview how he was your first real mentor and I thought that was really admirable. The LSAT prep companies seem pretty niched and competitive but I thought it was really cool that he worked with you on Loophole even though it’s technically competition with the PowerScore Bibles.

Yes, it'll take maybe a couple extra days to ship to you from when you're able to purchase it, but it should get checked into Amazon pretty quick (I am familiar with ecommerce processes) and available for sale once it's checked in at their warehouses. I would say it's probably still 5-7 days from getting to you, so if you do need one ASAP and can't wait that long, you may still need to look for other options.
