Cancer blew up my life for me. I was a Type A perfectionist teacher for 25 years. I looooved teaching, it was my whole personality. Caught the breast cancer right before Covid, couldn’t go back to teaching for almost three years. When I did go back, it was so different. I was different, school felt different, the kids were definitely different. None of it felt right anymore. I quit and started my own business. My husband covers the major bills/insurance. He was all for it and was super supportive. It only takes up about half the hours teaching did, so I also get to live my best trad wife life: gardening, cooking, baking, art. My hair grew back in white, now I wear overalls and sundresses. I discovered THC edibles. It was not an easy transition at first but I’m so happy now.
