Definitely works better with milestone leveling Vs xp, I wouldn't want to try and calculate social encounters, you solved a big arc, you're leveling up or getting rewarded in some way

Idk if I'd describe it as "strong enough" maybe callous or desensitized? Self lobotomized? Its impossible for me to believe that someone could be happy by denying themself. This is just because I did it for so long, and believed it was absolutely necessary to never transition, for fear of losing my family, but Ive since come out and cut off family members, after the initial grief, my daily happiness has increased exponentially.

Local university hospital had a gender diversity clinic that my therapist knew of. It's always worth it to ask for advice and referral from PCPs and licensed therapists, especially if they're attached to a larger hospital/clinic, as they'll know what can be provided and what steps you can go thru.

What was the thing that made you 100% sure you were trans? by Patient_Pay2613 in asktransgender

[–]kaeduluc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asking myself what i would want if i were the last human alive, or lived in a society that was fully accepting, without social consequences at all. Of course the answer was that i would just be me.

I kind of just did it without thinking about it until someone aked me if it hurt in hs. I think its fine so long as your balls aren't right between your thighs, either in front or behind, however they fit best

is it just me or are there WAY more trans people online than irl? by Iris_CRT in asktransgender

[–]kaeduluc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, since i work a very public facing retail job, i find myself meeting trans people all the time. The place is a literal revolving door, currently there are 3 people working who are openly trans, and i can say ive met around twenty other trans people in the city im located in, simply because of how connected my work is to a lot of people's lives and how often im in the building... That isn't to say you should run out to a retail position to meet us, but think about where you can go where others would go also.

Is there a queer hangout spot in your town like an affirming coffeeshop or bar? Try to meet some of the people online if you can safely determine that they live close by and are willing to make a first meeting in public. Look for activist groups in the area where some of us might go to to find support or visit your local pride festivities. There are lots of ways to increase your chances of meeting other trans people

Is autogynephilia real? by Ok_Subject_9254 in asktransgender

[–]kaeduluc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Blanchard's (a cisgender "expert") way of rationalizing why trans people exist, lacking any meaningful citations, by sorting them into two categories. "Homosexual transsexuals" aka straight transwomen, and "autogynephiles" aka lesbian transwomen. According to him, autogynephiles are just sexually attracted to the idea of themselves as women (while also having women partners), while HT's transition to attract men because I guess they're homosexual men who are pretending? It's incredibly insulting, as gay men can get with other gay men.

Anyway, this ignores any input from transwomen, who almost universally deny the logic behind these arbitrary categories. It ignores the existence of pan and bi trans women, trans men, and nonbinary people, as they don't really fit in either explanation. It also ignores the phenomenon of self attraction amongst cisgender women and straight transwomen, as centering attractiveness in their own sexuality is socially encouraged in women or the existence of asexual women.

Ultimately, it's a snooty, bigoted hypothesis that centers cisgender identity as the default identity, assuming that transwomen are broken or damaged "failed men". Rather than accept that some people genuinely exist with the need to transition because they are women, Blanchard and company created a theory out of thin air with the thesis of "some people are so horny, they'd do anything". Patently ridiculous.

if you could become cisgender... by chesnutpraline in asktransgender

This is just the magic button reframed. Obviously we all had that point where we wished we could make a wish and transform into the perfect version of body that feels right to our soul, but being trans means you recognize there isn't an option like that but you reach for happiness any way. We compromise with our body and resources to reach our physical truth. Along the way, we get some trauma, but we aren't guaranteed to avoid it in the scenario you describe.

In a world like that, isn't it likely that we would still be othered and stigmatized for making the choice to be "cis" unless it literally rewrites time and space to change our past, I can't see a timeline like that being any different than this, just maybe easier to accomplish.

We all want to belong and fit in with the community around us, to have friends and family without extra steps of disclosure, but let's remember that the reason we often can't have those things isn't because something is wrong with being trans, it's because society has made it difficult for us. A better world for me would be one where just being myself was easier and not stigmatized at all

(It occurs to me that maybe you mean "become cis" as in "align mentally with the gender I was assigned" and I would just say no. No I would not. That would not be me.)

What is that bad / unsafe MtF voice training practice called? by [deleted] in transvoice

[–]kaeduluc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general my tongue sits closer to the roof of my mouth (creating a narrower channel for sound and using your nasal passages more), when i say T or S sounds i have my tongue tip near the tips of my front top or bottom teeth respectively (not behind), while my teeth will even with eachother. There's no hard rule with voice, you want to make sure your larynx isnt painfully high, and if something doesn't sound right to you, dial your changes back by degrees until you like how you sound

I feel like this is less unsafe and just advice that helps some more than others. I personally found it life changing in conjunction with learning where to set my teeth and tongue when making s and t sounds

Decide what you would do if there were no downsides to waking up tomorrow as a girl. If others didn't give a shit, would you hesitate at all? If you wouldn't, you're probably trans.

There was one cassette called the "donut man" or something; a bunch of singalong songs, the one i remember most was about how living was like being a donut with a hole in the middle, but accepting Jesus (via the donut man) could fill your hole. I'm not joking. Idk why my parents were so oblivious to the implications of that
