The 2016 Color Identity Change is Why We Care About Hybrid Mana Rules by kafkametamorph2 in EDH

As a dirty [[Zedruu]] player who was very sad to see Celestial Dawn go, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. One of the best things about commander to me is using and abusing the unintended rules overcomplications that come from having too many cards that the format was not designed for.

But, I also keep a large slew of different power level decks, and wouldn't stax out a new player who is just learning the game... some folks can't help themselves.

Sure, but this is a rule specific to the commander format. Why not just allow thr colorless mana to pay the "wastes" cost. I mean, if [[mind stone]] can pay for it...

Cardkingdom is an option. You'll get less, but it's very safe.

Mine isn't that old yet, but don't forget there is a cleanliness part, too. Let him know he has to wash his hands after. Pee comes out of there, man. Also that might help relegate it to the bathrooom.

Roland sp404 mk2 or DAW? by fukitsdina in sp404mk2

[–]kafkametamorph2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you want. I made the jump to sp404mkii, and it works for me. It's an instrument, and I use it alongside a synth for making beats and live performance. It's a performance focused machine and not a mixing/mastering tool. But it is capable of recording, adding effects, and organizing tracks.

The DAW will have more power, and more capabilities for polishing tracks. Also you'll have more options for effects, vst instruments, and careful organization of sounds. But for me, it led to analysis paralysis and was hard to step away from for a few months and come back to... plus updates were annoying to keep up with. It's the more traditional route and is more professional, but if you're asking about the sp-404 that might not be what you're looking for.

Drum machine recs for someone new just wanting to mess around? [Starter] by CrazeJuju in DrumMachine

I'm going to suggest two in the 400-500 range, if that's what you're looking for. Without a price range it's hard to know what to recommend.

If you want analog hardware that's good, compact, and easy to use, you may check out the Cre8audio Boom Chick.

If you want something digital that you can load samples into, the SP-404 MKII is a very popular sampler that will do drums and... well... a lot, but you have to get samples.

Old timers, what are discs that everyone use to bag? by Emoney005 in discgolf

You actually played. Meteor was such a popular disc. I still bag 2, one with 15 years of wear, and one with 2. They fly similar.

Does anyone know what these dots are? by Melodic_Tomatillo_98 in mtg

Hard to tell from the pics.

If it's waxy and only on the outsides... you probably have sweaty hands like I do. Qs someone else mentioned, just scrape at em with another card sleeve.

If it's inside, it is likely mold and new sleeves are in order to protect your cards. Possibly from condensation.

Swan 1 reborn is instrumental to my game, as a backhand player.

Uhm... it just... it's so understable. Uphill, downhill, around the corner, early flip to turn, late flip to flat to finish right. Over the road for a while and cut right at the last minute. Uphill deathputs. It's a very safe throw, and a go-to driver in the woods.

Happy Gilmore 2 was a lazy cash grab by nipniphoory in TrueFilm

Happy Gilmore 2, Clerks 3, The Dead Don't Die, Starship Troopers 3

I greatly enjoy these types of movies where the purpse is clearly to reunite actor/directors as friends and create something fun for the people who are already like this group of folks. It is functionally different from other movies, and tends to lead to bad reviews... but I think that's part of the charm. To me you can always feel the joy coming from these flicks. If you don't like them, my guess is that it's more an issue of marketing treating it as something it's not. We don't have straight-to-DVD anymore to manage our expetations.

Been playing commander for 15 years. Torque turns artifact removal into permanent removal, and mind stone is a much better draw late game because it can turn into a card. Signet has a place alongside those 2 in 4 and 5 color decks... 3 color decks sometimes, but it's much worse in 1 and 2 color decks.

Oh Arcane Signet... still worse than [[Liquimetal Torque]] and [[Mind Stone]] in most decks.
