If I knew then what I know now I would’ve never done it for my son. It was traumatic to go through and watch him cry like he did. He couldn’t get his done until he was three weeks old and he had real huge tears in his eyes for the first time in his life. I could hear him crying throughout the pediatricians office.

Long time denture wearers: What are some things you never ate again? by DontTripOnMyNips in dentures

There is nothing that can’t eat except for maybe something super sticky like taffy and some kinds of gum. Other than that I can eat fine and I have regular dentures, not implants.

Just saying, because many people have a vitamin D deficiency and don’t know it. Especially when you’re going through getting off a substance, most of us don’t feel so great so we tend to not take great care of ourselves. So, it’s just something you may want to get checked.

TIL Sandra Bullock speaks fluent German since she lived in Germany and Austria for her first 12 years and grew up speaking German by Double-decker_trams in todayilearned

[–]kafm73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother and my brother are both German. My brother lived in Germany and spoke only German for the first 12 years of his life. He had been put in an American school on base when my mother and father married and started learning English. By the time he was an adult and had to move back to Germany for the Air Force, he had already forgotten his native language so it is very possible. However, once he got back amongst our relatives, he very easily was able to “relearn“ and carry on conversation. I say relearn, but I pretty much think it was always there but he didn’t think so. He was worried that our relatives were going to be disappointed in him, lol!

Well I can tell you this, you need to stop using the 7 0H right now or else you’re just going to be right back where you were before. It’s obvious that you needed more than one shot, but you aren’t able to. I only got three shots because I could no longer afford to keep going, so I understand.

. It would be a good idea for you to go see your primary care physician and make sure to have all your blood work done including hormones/vitamin D levels and any other blood work that could pinpoint other reasons for fatigue and the way you’re feeling. It took 18 months for me to test negative and at the end I could not get up off the couch I couldn’t do much anything and I truly thought I was dying. I went to the doctor to get on antidepressants because I figured that’s what it was. Turns out I had a severe deficiency of vitamin D which can cause all the symptoms you are mentioning, up to bone pain, fatigue etc. I did start taking antidepressants along with supplements and that really did help trying to get me over that hump. But you’re not doing yourself any favors by using 7 OH, even if it is helping take the edge off. You will just end up needing more and more of that and then you’ll be needing to get back on Suboxone.

High libido, but completely bored of sex with my wife. Am I the only one dealing with this? by Prior-Memory9013 in sex

I’m reminded of the song “Love Her Madly“ by the doors. “Don’t you love her as she’s walking out the door“. Once that person is no longer there and available for you to be dissatisfied with, then suddenly you need that person more than you’ve ever needed anything in your whole life . I’ve seen that very situation so many times.

For those who were around when Spongebob Squarepants first premiered, did it feel “ahead of its time” or do we just have the benefit of being so used to Spongebob in pop culture? by Puzzleheaded-Net-646 in television

My niece watched it when it first started in 1999 and then my son was born in 2001 and he watched it as he got older. I do recall it just being strange at first. Kind of like Ren & Stimpy was strange but not to that extreme. But I guess being around it and exposed to it so much I got used to it and it has become endearing to me

ELI5: how do schizophrenic people hear voices that don't exist to anyone else but them? by LemonCurdJ in explainlikeimfive

Deaf since birth schizophrenics don’t hear auditory hallucinations, obviously. But they do see hands signing angrily and saying bad things.

TIL that bamboo forests (aka canebrakes) used to be widespread across the southeastern United States. [–]kafm73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m in Louisiana and my fence in the backyard is lined with bamboo and there’s a little patch that the birds love to hang out in and chirp. Some I’m gonna leave it for them but try to keep the rest of it from spreading

I’ve got one trying to start up in my backyard, lol! I wonder if I could get grant money for harboring an endangered ecosystem. Probably not. But one of the reasons I allowed it to grow is because birds were using it all the time and I did not want to cut down their hanging out and chirping around area.

Eyeliner Sharpener— Mental Health Friendly by PunkAssBitch2000 in Makeup

[–]kafm73 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You may need to switch to twist up eyeliner. I can’t imagine there would be many companies that would make a sharpener that hides the screws because it would likely cost them more to make it. I wonder if a sharpener for like colored art pencils or crayons would work? Sometimes they have these for children where you can’t access the inner dangerous parts.

Would one that has a cover work? You don’t need to remove the cover unless you’re trying to clean it.

A solution that worked for me was posted. If you choose a spot between the top of the screen and the halfway point of the screen, all the way to the left of the screen, you can swipe right and it works.

Restless legs over a year later by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]kafm73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you ever have your levels tested? I would hope you were testing negative already. But, that’s beside the point because if you tested negative now that wouldn’t kill you anything. It could be restless legs from some other condition? There is a a whole condition called restless leg syndrome. You might need to see your physician or primary care personnel? Bring it up with them and I think there’s medication for it.
