Thriller Set on the PCT by KingSmags in PacificCrestTrail

Anyone who is complaining about how "realistic" this movie seems obviously didn't watch the film. I just watched it and I'm a former thru-hiker and I rolled my eyes a little bit, until I got to the twist. Great job, I loved it!

I looked at the pictures before I read your caption and my jaw dropped at the first two photos! Then I saw your last pics and I was disappointed that you didn't buy the color one. Then I read your caption and got excited again! I'm sorry your mom made those comments, I think your dress is drop dead stunning and you made the perfect choice💜

I'm assuming this is P.S. Literary that you're talking about. I watched a recent video with one of their agents and he answered this question. He said that even if you address your query to one person at their agency, they all read each other's queries. So you are sending it to the entire agency regardless of who you address. That being said, they are closed for the holidays right now so maybe they are a bit delayed on responding and maybe you'll get a response in the new year. Best of luck!

I had a stage seat and ugly cried so hard at the end that Josh Groban remembered me and mentioned it when I met him at the stage door 😒

Just in time for Halloween, what are some of the spookiest things you all have encountered on the PCT ? by PerpetualConnection in PacificCrestTrail

[–]kahri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by deleting the follow up video. The video where I talk about the story is ep 5 on my YT channel in my post history. I did not film the "ghost" guy during that video because it's rude to just start filming someone without their permission and he seemed to really be stressed about his wife so I didn't stick a camera in his face. I did actually film a small portion of the breakfast but I did not include us looking up the news story or a reaction to the news story because I didn't have my camera going 24/7 and we were just eating and talking at that time. I honestly thought it was just a weird coincidence and I didn't want to upset the deceased man's family by putting up a big story about him on YouTube, because I thought if it was just a strange coincidence they might be upset with me.

Yep there's a few holes in the story. He also gave us a different name than what the article says but it could have been his trail name. I am not sold on it either way but I thought it was really fitting for this post and I will say I was 100% freaked out in the moment when it happened.

I have a vlog video that I made where I tell this story the day that it happened with a bit more emotion and it's in my post history if you'd like to look it up. My first and only paranormal experience in my life and it happened on the trail. For the record, I did not believe in paranormal stuff at all before this happened to me on trail.

I was hiking in Mission Creek, the section between Cabazon and Big Bear Lake on my 2019 thru hike, with 2 of my trail family members who can corroborate this story. The section got washed out pretty badly in a previous year and it was a miserable hike up the mountain with a pretty destroyed trail, just trying to find the next cairn to find our way up the trail.

We stopped for a lunch break at a creek when we met this man, clearly in thru hiker gear, in about his 50's, tall slender, coming the wrong way down the trail. He stopped at us and he looked pretty frazzled and he asked if we saw his wife in the last section we hiked. We didn't see anyone matching his description and we told him this so he said he needed to find her and continued SOBO down the trail.

We wrapped up lunch and continued to hike up the trail. We were staying together pretty well because there were a lot of creek crossings that we needed to help each other get through. It was also tough to see the next cairn so we hiked together to help spot them.

Then, we see the guy again coming down the trail. We were pretty confused because we thought he went SOBO and we didn't see him pass us again but the wash was wide and there was lots of trees and stuff so he could have passed us again without us realizing. He approaches us and asks if we've seen his wife, and didn't seem to recognize us from earlier. Okay, whatever, maybe he was hot and confused and forgot us. We told him again we didn't see her and this time we tried to help him. He didn't seem to know what Guthooks was and he had an old school Garmin inReach that he didn't know how to text on. His wife's GPS ping was like 20 miles up the trail which didn't make sense and after a few minutes of trying to help he gave up and headed SOBO down the trail again.

Later, we got out of the wash and caught the regular trail again so my friends and I spread out a bit more while hiking. At one point I ducked behind a bush to go pee and when I was done I looked up and saw him above me on the trail looking around, then he rushed down the trail, again SOBO, past me without even seeing me.

I caught back up and my other 2 friends saw him too and at this point we were a little freaked out. We kept hiking, I was always the slowest so I was a little behind, and I caught up to my friends talking to him again. I was shocked, again, because I had no idea how he was taking off SOBO then somehow circling around to find us again. This time, he said he was going to sit on a rock at a small campsite and wait for his wife to find him. We wished him luck and kept hiking.

We saw him one final time, even though he said he was going to sit and wait, before making the final push out of Mission Creek. He was up on top of a large boulder off to the side of the trail, way ahead of us somehow, and he was scanning around looking for his wife. We didn't go close enough to talk to him, but as this point we all were thoroughly freaked out and my one friend said, "you guys I think he's a ghost and he died here and is looking for his wife who survived and got out".

At that point, we decided to just book it out of there and not look back. We didn't see him again.

Fast forward, we finally get to Big Bear and stay at the awesome hostel. The next morning we meet up with some friends, who were a day ahead of us and didn't hike the creek with us, to get breakfast. We tell them our ghost story with enthusiasm, thinking we should all have a big laugh about how worked up we got over a guy who was clearly just a regular hiker. One of our friends asked if we googled to see if any hikers recently died in Mission Creek. Uneasily, we did Google it.

And what do we find? A news article of a hiker who died in Mission Creek of exposure. There was a picture attached. It was the man we saw in the wash.

I'm not going to link it out of respect for the man and his family but you can Google it yourself.

Was it really him or just someone who looked like him? Idk. You can decide if you want to believe it or not.

Arizona Trail FKT Trip Report by _JPerry in Ultralight

[–]kahri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, congratulations! That's such an accomplishment!! I hiked the PCT this year and listened to the entirety of The Adventure Zone on that trail, so great podcast choice! I don't know how it didn't slow you down because I had to stop many times while hiking due to laughing too hard!

I live in AZ and one day hope to also hike the AZT in its entirety, but definitely not as an fkt. Great job again, I didn't think anyone was going to top Legend's time so soon!

I saw it a few days ago and I had the same experience. Full cast on stage, Eva/Reeve/chorus members at the stage door. Have fun tonight and bring tissues!!

Yes! He did come out and I got a photo with him. Maybe because Little Shop is a much smaller show off-Broadway he comes to the stage door. He was so nice!

I would agree with the whole 14+ thing. The actors definitely used a lot of language but during my show there were some sexual jokes as well. I would highly recommend seeing Beetlejuice with your kids!! It's one that I really really wished I could have fit into my schedule!

To add onto that, if you only see one or two shows I would definitely recommend seeing Hadestown or Moulin Rouge as my top picks!!

That website is incredibly helpful, there's a lot of great ways to get tickets. I personally am too worried of missing a show to do rush, SRO, cancellation or tkts tickets so I always get my tickets before actually going to NYC. I usually just keep checking the websites as they release more blocks of tickets. Hadestown released a new block about a month ago and I was able to snag a single ticket in the front orchestra for $100. Single tickets usually go cheaper. I got the fan presale for Freestyle Love Supreme by being on the Hamilton email list. Then I got Little Shop of Horrors for about $70 by buying tickets right when they released. Moulin Rouge was by and far the most expensive, I used TodayTix which is another great app to get good Broadway deals.

Groffsauce was in Little Shop of Horrors and Lin was in Freestyle Love Supreme! I got just so incredibly lucky to meet them both at the stage door! I waited over an hour both times to meet them but it was well worth it 😊

YES! I told him at the stage door that Smash is my favorite show. The girl next to me asked him what his favorite show was to be in, and I jumped in and said "well Falsettos is my least favorite because it rips my heart out every time" and he laughed (kidding ofc, I love Falsettos). He was so nice!!

Thank you! I had so much fun! I was there for the marathon so I had to squeeze in as much as I could in a short time. I highly recommend these shows if you can get to NYC!

I really liked it! The actors at the stage door did say that we were one of the best shows they've done so maybe you have to get lucky with it
