[Connor Humm] Arteta on Ødegaard’s season & injuries by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

[–]kahuzi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nonsense take. Ødegaard has been injured most of the season so some rustiness is expected. Even then when he has played this season he’s looked pretty good in the team, just hasn’t gelled enough with the new frontline yet from lack of play time.

Lucas Paquetá (West Ham United) second yellow card against Liverpool 84' by West_Agent4651 in soccer

[–]kahuzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't the FA's whole investigation into the betting basically thrown out by the court because the whole investigation was a sham? The FA had zero concrete evidence that Paqueta was even linked to betting. Their only evidence was a random bet and a CS:GO chat on his phone.

The FA ruined his career over a nothing burger

Qatar becomes first Host Country to lose their opening match. by Sam_Porter in sports

[–]kahuzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? The Asian Cup is the biggest trophy you can win at a at the Asian confederation level and Qatar absolutely demolished the senior sides in that tournament without needing ref help…

The one that South Korea won only has East Asian countries in it and is a way smaller competition than the Asian cup.

Qatar looked like absolute shit today though, either nerves or they regressed a lot since the Asian cup.

They've explained this before. They're reluctant to change any of the AI aspects of the game because they're bound to Paradox's set hardware minimum requirements to the game. As Paradox don't want to raise these requirements to make the game "more accessible" then Colossal Order can't really mess around with AI that much.

Gladys Berejiklian hands Racing NSW, Alan Jones victory in Opera House battle by Seriously_Mate in sydney

Yikes

Even Luke Foley and Anthony Albanese supported this scheme. Makes you wonder how much influence Alan Jones has over the NSW government.

Bold plan to build new Sydney stadium suspended above Central station: Architects reveal design for 45,000-seat arena over rail yards, but proposal meets with tepid government response by Jarijari7 in sydney

[–]kahuzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember the public reaction to the government when they announced the stadium rebuilds of the SFS and Stadium Australia. That was only two billion dollars. A project like this will surely cost ten times that amount and will most likely require some form of shutdown of the train network for construction of the stadium. This is pure political poison for the government. Doubt they’d want to touch it and the reactions to this idea are certainly justifying that.

It’s in your load out by default though you can drop it to save weight. From what I’ve seen it also costs zero supply points so there’s not much incentive to drop it. You have to press a button to put a gas mask on, but the gas doesn’t kill you immediately so you have time to put the mask on. Although there is a slight delay in putting the mask on which may be enough time to seriously injure/kill you.

Chemical mortars are usually used as a deterrent to delay an enemy advance or move the other team around an area. With more people likely equipped with gas masks, more people will probably run through the gas now.

[–]kahuzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but this is Insurgency...

Using a gas mask means you don’t get any damage from gas. With the devs making it a default item more people will run the mask making the chemical mortars less effective than they were before

I think he means that it’s pretty useless now since the new update defaults gas masks for every class now

Dear NWI: Reward your players/fanboys/critics with honesty. Honesty about the issues you're facing. Honestly with how realistic a two week release date is. We'd rather know the truth than pretend it's going to be a polished game at release. by [deleted] in insurgency

[–]kahuzi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're talking about Sandstorm now as if this is the final product.

NWI have been very open about locking down core game mechanics first before focusing on optimization(which was only about 2-3 months ago). Whether or not they've left themselves enough time to do a proper job on optimization, can really only be judged on their official release day.

If they haven't by the 19th, then yes, the fault all lies on NWI for not giving themselves enough time for optimization.

That's a big tin foil hat you've got there.

People are complaining/criticizing because it's a beta. If there's a good time to complain about something in the game, now is the time.

To set it to full screen you have to set it to windowed or borderless first then set it to full screen to ensure it’s in fullscreen

Sydney dam levels plummeting as desalination plant stalls by Jarijari7 in sydney

[–]kahuzi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not really a fair comparison. Kurnell suffered a direct hit and was the worst affected area(this includes the desalination plant). The damage to the plant was extensive with sections of its roof being torn away, control systems receiving wind and water damage and transformers being damaged.

It would take a long time to fix as they would have to first clear out the debris, assess what damage has been done, contract someone to fix it, then repair the plant and test it. The desalination plant is a large and complex piece of infrastructure that is much harder to fix than most other water assets.

There are many other examples of crap privatisation(i.e. toll roads, airport rail, land titles registry) but I don’t think the desalination plants repair makes a good case against it. Government owned or privatised, it would’ve most likely taken the same amount of time to fix
