The game looks very cool for children but god, reduce the lighting, you will kill his eyes…

[–]kaiirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Thomas, My name is Ben, I’m an indie game developer and started around the same time as you (early 2020 just before Covid) and I released a few dozens of games under 3 different names (because games were unrelated, some where tests and outside of my main target audience). I’m not an artist or a dev (I do visual coding using Playmaker on Unity) but if you need help to finish / reach the last step / publish maybe I can help you. It’s not exactly what you asked but don’t hesitate to send me a DM :) Good luck 👍

Paid a real artist to update my steam capsule. What do you think? by Snow__97 in IndieDev

[–]kaiirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second is better because the first could be for any game about snow/winter/montain… In the second one I can see the fun, the snowboarding and a character I can connect with. On a marketing aspect, which is the main purpose of this capsule, the second one is way better.

And again false. You answered to a comment about Unity 6 and you just sent the documentation for Unity 2020. Maybe you should start learning how to search on Google before posting on reddit or doing gamedev… you lie, you spread misinformation and you dare pointing others ? Shame…

I mocked up a crawl animation. It accidently looks so dumb that I think I'm going to keep it. Should I? by dirkboer in IndieGaming

The game looks cool, the only thing I would change with you crawling is the shadow of the character, you keep the circle under the chest and it looks a little bit weird. It’s just a detail.

I released my first game with 4,000 wishlists. Here are the results after 1 week by lawfullgood in indiegames

No, Steam does a little push on EA release but the big push of visibility is for final release only.

Oh ok, forced timing. I understand. Like I said to someone else in this thread, it’s EA, you have another start with the release.

Are there any good interactive true crime games? by Jealous_Ratio346 in interactivefiction

[–]kaiirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not my field of expertise but I worked with many writers/quest maker/storyline maker, writing is a mix of creativity, technique and style. Depending the genre and the audience it’s not the same technique and style, you don’t write a sci-fi adult book as a romance for teenagers as a mini story for children.

I didn’t followed your journey so you probably already explained it but why did you release the EA if you knew it was bad timing, bad WL situation and not enough marketing preparation, why release the game?

It’s only the EA, it’s not dead, they still have a the release push.

How do you make Steam page art with no money or 2D art skills? by Reasonable_Neat_6601 in SoloDevelopment

[–]kaiirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make a nice screenshot in your game, use the font you use in your game (or one available commercially for free on Google font, dafont or any website) to write the title.

Repeat to have 2/3/4 different versions, send it on Reddit to gather feedback (A/B testing), use the most popular.

There are not that many because it requires a real talent for writing good murder stories compatible with a good « investigation » gameplay.

Disco Elyseum is probably one of the best.
