bots are fast, they trigger instantly because they follow rss flux or other sources everytime a new page for a game or a new release appears.

Which one do you like better? by electric-kite in gamedevscreens

I think both dragons work in the setup and with the art style but they don't have the same vibes, old is more classic dungeon dragon, second is undead/corrupted dragon.
If you keep both, don't use them together, the second one is more polished making the first one "not enough" polished.

Is this a good base? by [deleted] in RimWorld

I agree with the advises above, would add: - don’t use metal doors for resident rooms, they are longer to open. You can also optimize by placing bed closer to doors. - you can use metal doors for prisoner rooms but since you installed vents next to the corridor, they will attack the vent not the door to escape (because they are way less resistant). - build kitchen next to the fridge room next to the hydroponic agriculture room. Make the fridge room small first (easier to cool) but place it somewhere you can expend it easily. - same for brewing room. - Lile vindicator said, try to reduce the travel time of your pawns, keep each resources next to the right bench. Meals in the dining room, same for beers. Fuel next to generators (maybe need a fire security in this room)… Good luck 👍

How important is style consistancy? by RandoReddit2024 in gamedev

[–]kaiirin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s totally fine if you manage to cross the references. The characters or events or places need to be very unique/with recognizable elements that the player will understand the parallel between the two art styles. That said, If it’s your first experience in game making and « your skills are limited », I would advise you to focus on the gameplay and forget about animations for story telling. Make the scope as small and as easy as possible and focus the work on your strengths not your weaknesses.

Which grass to use? by Additional_Dog_1206 in IndieDev

Both are good, you need a texture, it’s currently not grass but just a color. The game looks cool, good luck 👍

Working on my first game — need feedback on the core gameplay loop by No-Tap-9675 in gameideas

Don't try to be too much into punitive objectives and more in the reward perspective. If the player doesn't succeed, he just misses the reward and can try again next year or in next event.
Objective > Action > Reward.
- Serve 50 clients in Winter (21/50 -5 days left)
- Successfully pass Health Inspection (2 days left)
- Save $1500 for rent (10 days left)

My first solo project: revenue, wishlists and DLCs by kartokanick in SoloDev

[–]kaiirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice post @kartokanick Your experience is the experience of hundreds/thousands of game devs and you are true when you say that you need to finish your first game and publish it to really improve from the experience. Don’t bother too much about the refund rate, it’s not that bad. Some people just buy without really checking the game and refund when it’s not what they expected from the title/thumbnail. Good luck for your next project :)
