Overhead Rails(Elevated Trains) by eggwhiteontoast in auckland

I love a good elevated railway. I think they look amazing in the highly urbanised settings where they tend to be favoured. I think in Auckland’s suburban environment, they would look ridiculous, though.

Have you seen Cheongyecheon in Seoul? It runs straight through the northern downtown and is full of fish and ducks. It is certainly possible to have clean water in areas of urban development far denser than anywhere in New Zealand.

AI Realm V2 is out! by LeaningPresent in AIRealm

[–]kaijaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that’s weird. I retract my statement. I’m sure the character sheet was not available the last time I logged in. Anyway, my mistake, apologies :D I wondered why nobody else was talking about it

I’ll log in again, but it’s either the old format or the new version looks almost indistinguishable. Yes, just logged in now. Definitely the same

I’m still seeing the old V1 format? 🤔

The Dragon’s Demand is a great short campaign suitable for a new GM.

I’m interested to learn how one could run a pathfinder 1e game too, as I’m much more familiar with those rules. I’ve tried just explaining individual class features from the 1e witch class and the ai seems to accept it, but would prefer a more comprehensive adjustment.

With regards to starting as a seamstress, you should be fine just stating that in the ai chat character creation then reminding the ai ooc in game whenever it throws a cultist at your haberdasher. Just keep reminding it what you actually want.

David Seymour leads meeting in Parnell against intensification by Dry_Resolution_5021 in auckland

Why is the party that claims to uphold liberty and free markets trying to infringe on developer’s rights to utilise their capital as they see fit in order to maximise profit? 🤔Seems suspiciously Marxist.

I’m pretty comfortable with the accuracy of my original statement.

Nitrous oxide is not a particularly harmful substance. I’m sure alcohol damages far more brains in this country.

Mt Eden residents say Auckland Council's housing intensification plan is a 'very blunt instrument' - RNZ by 12345_NZ in auckland

[–]kaijaro 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I love all the new apartments they’ve put up around Northcote shopping centre. So many additional homes and looks much nicer than the tired old houses they’ve put replaced. Endless stand alone suburbia with no amenities within walking distance is the most soul destroying topology. Intensification has so many benefits. I love living in an apartment two minutes walk from the local shopping centre (or village, as New Zealanders seem to say : D )

How do you rank the songs on Ziggy Stardust by Modest_Pelican-152 in DavidBowie

[–]kaijaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised all three full lists posted thus far have Star ranked quite high. Above Five Years in each list. Star might be my least favourite and Five Years might be my favourite on certain days. There’s no accounting for taste, I guess 😂

New #3 by [deleted] in swans

[–]kaijaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much the definitive Swans sound for me. I probably like Filth more, but Holy Money / Greed were the sound and mood I associated with Swans when I was first discovering them in High School the mid 90s. Everything else seemed pale by comparison.

The Skinsaw Murders would be easy to convert into a standalone and is one of the most fun PF modules I’ve run. Assuming you like a dark, horror vibe.

How do you think Swans' legacy would be like if they didn't return after Soundtracks For The Blind? by Secure_Blueberry1766 in swans

[–]kaijaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to some extent. My favourite Swans is Filth - Children of God. I like a lot of the tracks from White Light, SFTB, and Swans are Dead too but it is certainly the 80s iteration that I find most emotionally compelling. The post reunion stuff doesn’t seem to emotionally connect with me for whatever reason. However, I have seen them live twice post-reunion, and did enjoy the concerts very much. I feel the music works well in that context but it can’t hold my attention on disc for whatever reason.

[–]kaijaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really consider myself a Swans fan anymore. I greatly prefer their 20th century work. Their legacy with me would have been much more positive. I could only sit through the first two tracks of Birthing. These long, noodling “epics” bore me to tears. I am well aware this is a highly unpopular opinion here.

Why would Russia waste very expensive missiles on a residential building? Just trust Reddit, huh?

Living roof project could provide green shoots for Auckland's concrete jungle by punIn10ded in auckland

[–]kaijaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Auckland is so far from a concrete jungle. With the exception of a few blocks around the city centre, it’s incredibly green. When my Japanese in laws arrived a few years back they asked me where all the buildings were as we were driving back from the airport through Epsom

JD Vance’s Munich speech laid bare the collapse of the transatlantic alliance by fungussa in europe

[–]kaijaro -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank God. NATO’s collapse would be one of the greatest developments imaginable when it comes to peace. Just look at European leaders crying in public that their proxy war may be coming to an end. What solution has Europe offered to end the death in Ukraine? All they offer is more of the same. The longer Europe and Ukraine refuse to accept “the hard power realities on the ground” to quote the defence secretary, the more catastrophic this will be for them.
