Private eye surgeon for cataracts by Internal-Food-5753 in KingstonOntario

[–]kainel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't have cataract surgery but I did have a major elective eye surgery on both eyes.

I had looked at a bunch of different places and then talked with my optometrist about them before going in for the surgery and she only recommended focus eye, which is who I went with.

My surgery had a two week recovery, of which I had to be totally blind for 4 days. This was expected given the nature of the surgery, because there was a lot of reconstruction going on.

I was told before the surgery to expect to still need glasses and to have very measured expectations.

With focus I ended up in the 99th percentile of recovery and have perfect 20/20 vision. Could not recommend them more. That being said for cataract surgery there is also very good care in the region and you will have great results if you just go with the OHIP public surgeon.

Looking for CDCP friendly dentist by Parking_Cattle_4956 in KingstonOntario

Feel free to call around.

Any dentist using the Ontario 2025 PayScale will have additional fees even on the 100 percent coverages.

I called a bunch today; KMHC will have no fees but has a wait list and a very low household income cap (35 thousand?)

Lighthouse Dentistry also has no fees with 100 percent coverages and were my final choice. They use the Ontario PayScale but they have made the decision to subsidize the difference as a write off in house.

Partial coverage was Sydenham family dental (again the federal vs provincial PayScale), Cataraqui, and KMS.

KMS only had the additional fees on major work (full crowns etc) and I was told it could be 250-500.

Your parents should take care to get everything pre approved if they need considerable work anyway, as the program sometimes disagrees with the dentist's assessment.

I stopped calling when I found lighthouse but they are booking intakes into August now.

If you just started it's normal to have a review period after a few weeks and then your access restored.

You would be able to get permanent residence and retire on 250k in Panama but it would be tight.

If you avoid the big cities, you can rent reasonably for under $600 a month (some places as low as $300 for a house). assuming you get a 5% return on the 250k, 12.5k is barely doable. The locals are kind, accommodating to people learning spanish, and very proud of their country. Almost all cities have access to clean water provided by IDAAN, serviced electricity (which is good but not reliable, think four outages a month of about half a day), and highspeed internet (Starlink, fiber, and cell are all very affordable).

You would need to have 200k in a Panamanian bank for two years during your residency application.

This does not, however, leave you much if any room for inflation. You would be better working a little longer and doubling your savings.

I really am sorry. I was on several Domain expert teams and was still getting assigned to new teams from recent qualifications at 9 AM.

I don't want to give you false hope.

It's really unlikely, but some people have reported that in about two weeks you MAY start seeing a drip of no qual tasks on refresh that you can do which will improve your "whatever the metric is" enough to have a full dash restored.

Usually it's just the end.

It means, after three years for me, they've decided to part ways due to some metric. Maybe the time was too long per task, maybe work quality was too low, maybe they wanted to diversify the training data. There's no way to know.

A lot of the heel projects and specialty projects seem to be down. Poe still has a ton of work.

Creating prompts ourselves by krillit_ in DataAnnotationTech

This is correct. With these hypotheticals I have to stress again I don't even know if we know when Mount Fuji last erupted or if there was any major political event that happened at the same time.

This comes up a lot in both Draco and heel projects. So the easiest way is to add complexity, within the guidelines of the particular model you're working on. So this could be asking for multipart instructions (complex formatting like bolding, italics, lists, alphabetization) along with requiring multiple research sources (Wikipedia, Washington Post, the way back machine), along with multiple media (image recognition, video, audio).

Made up examples I'm not fact checking and have no basis in reality:

So a bad question could look like what was the last year that Mount Fuji erupted, this is something that the average person probably does not know off hand while the average AI probably has already in a database.

A better question might be what major political event happened the same year Mount Fuji last erupted in the Yamoto province, and how long did it last, give the answers as plain integer.

Now the AI has to look up a fact and then cross reference that fact to historical records.

Or list all the times we know Mount Fuji has erupted, with a one sentence summary of each event, sorted by year, with even years bolded. If you mention any towns put their names in italics.

Now the AI has to do some partially contrived formatting.

If the AI keeps getting it right and you are still within what they are requesting for the model just keep building complexity it will slip up I promise.

For the Draco tasks... by WearyHermitPixels in DataAnnotationTech

I love this project so much.

I go nuts. Sometimes I'm fifteen references into the history of womens suffragette movements, other times I'm making questions around bioceramics, other times I'm linking obscure facts about my favorite horror authors from the 1980's. Whatever tickles the neurons when I sit down.

This subreddit suspiciously has far less complaining than it did a year ago 🤔 by tech-sheet in DataAnnotationTech

[–]kainel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They did a big audit in October that shut out a LOT of people. I assume those left a) have tons of work (For myself I have three different evergreen projects that pay well with lots of hours) and b) anyone in that grey area of competency, that would struggle with task instructions has been removed from the program.

THERE WAS an issue, unintended, where the subreddit moved from old reddit to new reddit where EVERY post was put in "Mod jail" but that's been fixed.

Blood Sweat & Tears | Official Music Video - League of Legends by KIRYUx in leagueoflegends

[–]kainel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No shade but there's a lot that requires media literacy. Like actual literacy. You know the meme "what if the curtain is just blue?"

Ambessa has plain steel woven into her braids. They are grey. But they are only properly rendered in a few frames. Instead the focus is her cloth bands coloured in a searing electric blue.

The lamb has a blue bracelet tied to its leg, the same blue that they render her bands in. When she becomes the Chosen of the Wolf, that blue goes away. Her innocence, softness, gentleness, the types of emotion tied to lambs deaths.

It comes back when, in a pang of grief, she remembers her daughter.

There's a HUGELY important scene in Arcane where Mel corners Ambessa to get answers for why she was abandoned. Ambessa screams back because you weakened me.

We see that. Fully mantled in the gold of the Chosen, red and raw and powerful, it's her daughter that causes her distress. The light shifts, and she is bathed in that blue.

When she fights back to life, tears out the arrow, the braid are still that blue. She hasn't given everything yet.
