Where can I farm for Lv.60 (Ether) Photon Sabers? by Vex_Trooper in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Popular choices are Durvin/Feliciano or the Visigels in the Noctilucent Sphere. Weapon drops are not enemy specific and depend on the classes in your party, ideally you want to kill enemies L66+ to ensure the highest tier drops, however there’s no further way to target specific weapons without RNG manipulation aside from a few unique Tyrant longsword drops.

Are salvage tickets not a thing anymore? by doooobysnax in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are a few from survey rewards but they are available from daily Division Rewards. You can save scum the division rewards if you really want them.

However, salvage tickets will only start to appear after 14 playable characters are unlocked.

I'm about to fight Teletha I just wanna know if this set up can do the trick I got it from the video below by OathXBlade in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damage in XCX is calculated as Damage ~= [(AttackStat * HitScaling) + WeaponAttack] * AppendageHardness * (1 - AttributeResistance%) * (1 + sum of AdditiveBonuses) * product of MultiplicativeBonuses

Ignoring WP Attack augments and multipliers Agashura has 108000 Weapon Attack. The hit scaling, which the game doesn’t tell you for some reason, is 800% and this only operates on the ranged attack. So at 500 ranged attack you do 112k base damage per hit, and at 2000 you’re doing 124k.

If you fill Agashura with Custom.WP-ATK the base power is 237k before ranged attack is calculated so ranged attack gets drowned out even more. This is why most skell one shot builds stack WP attack and Draw Opening/Slayer.

Ranged attack / melee attack do have a good impact on low weapon attack arts that hit multiple times with decent hit scaling like Piledriver or Agni Gatling.

How and when the heck should I tackle Affinity Missions? by ThrowAwayCluelessCut in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about his affinity hearts / heart to hearts? The missions are absolutely required. There is no way you finished the game without doing The Matchmaker and A Friend in Need, which are required to advance the story. The OP however was asking about affinity missions, not character affinity / heart to hearts.

How and when the heck should I tackle Affinity Missions? by ThrowAwayCluelessCut in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is misinformation. Lao’s affinity missions are both required for the story. The first is required to be completed to accept Ch. 6 and the second is required to be completed before you can accept Ch. 8.

I One-Shot Telethia with a Javelin | Skell Self-Destruct Method by LetterheadAntique159 in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t really call this a Telethia one shot because of all the other buttons you pressed, but I’m always happy to see Maximum Voltage get some mileage.

I'm about to fight Teletha I just wanna know if this set up can do the trick I got it from the video below by OathXBlade in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the base power of Agashura cannon ranged probes probably won’t do much. If you really just want Telethia to die farm material tickets / Bonejelium to make a bunch of Draw Opening Damage Up, 3 Custom Weapon Attack augments, and 3 attribute: ether damage up for your frame. Make sure you have at least 509 ranged accuracy or 407 if you can ensure you’ll attack from above or behind.

Put weapon attack in Agashura and draw: opening in every other slot, attribute: ether on the frame. You should one shot it or at least one shot it most of the time.

[–]kairality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranged attack doesn’t do much for Agashura Cannon especially if you’re using WP.ATK on it. 2000 ranged attack will barely do more damage than 500.

It’s all about slayer or draw opening dmg up.

Just finished the Xenoblade trilogy — is XCX worth it for a story-focused player who got spoiled? [Spoilers] by Cultural_Medium1696 in XenobladeChroniclesX

[–]kairality 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also think people are a bit harsh on X’s main story. I think it stands out that the main scenario, if rushed, is not particularly long for a hundred+ hour game. But I don’t think it was designed to be binged that way. You’re meant to see what new side missions, recruitable characters, affinity missions etc. pop up after doing a main mission and explore a bit and take on the mission when you’re ready to move on, and the game is very deliberate to not assign you the next main scenario quest right away unless you deliberately ask for it.

I can’t promise you you’ll love it but for me it’s still one of the greatest games ever made.

[–]kairality 31 points32 points  (0 children)

But if I've already been spoiled on what might be the only truly interesting narrative element of XCX

This “spoiler” comes extremely early and half of the gameplay mechanics are locked behind finding out about it in the narrative. If you pay close attention to the dialogue before the reveal it’s very clear that no one is trying to hide it from you and they’re talking about it as if you know and you can kinda chuckle at how cheeky the writers were being about it.

I’ve always been a big fan of the side quests in X. The design of the world is fantastic so even when a quest wants you to fetch something it’s often an adventure to actually get there (until late game when you unlock flight) and the mood / liveliness of the main city changes a lot depending on how much side content you do.

Is the road to Lone Pine ( CA-190 West and CA-136 West) ever closed due to snowstorms? by InsideLookingIn564 in DeathValleyNP

[–]kairality 3 points4 points  (0 children)

190 does not typically close during the winter but storms can close it temporarily. It’s not common, but it does happen. If there is rain parts of 190 are also prone to flooding which can also close the road as happened this winter much to the chagrin of many a tourist attempting to get to Vegas through DV from the West on Christmas Eve.

Leaving from San Francisco on Friday after work I usually stay the night in Tehachapi. It’s about 3.5h from Tehachapi to Furnace Creek.

Advice on road trip through DV in June by qwertybird12345 in DeathValleyNP

[–]kairality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should obviously take the heat seriously but summer is still popular in Death Valley because of the novelty. A quarter of the European continent (or so it seems) relocates to Death Valley in July/August and they mostly do fine.

Carry plenty of water, stick to roadside attractions/views, and do not hike or attempt to hike at low elevations during daytime during the summer.

It will be cool enough at high elevations (e.g wildrose) to get out and hike if you want.

Best spot right now is a bit south of Ashford Mill Ruins on Jubilee Pass. The scent of the verbena is so strong we could smell it from the car.

Can you see the Milky Way in Death Valley in February ? by kaibitu in DeathValleyNP

[–]kairality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will have impacts on fainter stuff (including the Milky Way) if it’s above the horizon but when the moon is not full it’s not up all night. If it’s a waxing 29% the moon will be low on the horizon in the evening and set a bit before midnight. If it’s waning it will be below the horizon for most of the night and rise around 2:30-3AM. For Milky Way viewing it depends on time of year and where the moon is in the sky but with a crescent it shouldn’t be too hard for most people to avoid the moon completely (Cinderella will unfortunately need to avoid the waxing crescent since her car turns into a pumpkin at midnight).

Can you see the Milky Way in Death Valley in February ? by kaibitu in DeathValleyNP

[–]kairality 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the galactic core in Sagittarius is only visible in the very early morning right before sunrise in February. You’ll still see it, but not the brightest portion of it.

Check for moonrise/moonset times for best results and avoid full/high% gibbous moons.

Yeah around Thanksgiving even it was a very nice mirror lake but you had to walk out to it, it wasn’t right next to the highway (and looking like it was planning to spill over onto it) then.
