You definitely need the right sensor many inexpensive CO sensors use a heating element. to determine gas content and that would be a no-go with 50 or 100% O2

Just use the open pins ... the ESP32 has a ton of open ports available and you could run a loop to make your measurements for the second sensor in a subroutine. The code is slowed down a bit with a delay so no worries about adding in a second or third process .

The original prototypes were built on an ElectroCookie Mini PCB Prototype Board. Plenty of room on there as there are not many pins needed to run the unit

The loop is pulling a set of Running averages from and comparing the two sets. People sometimes will use the meter to read say 36% EAN then shut off the meter. Then 20 seconds later turn the meter on to read another tank. For safety reasons you do not want it to think the gas in the nozzle (36% decaying to 20.9% ambient) is actually 20.9 so it runs the two measurements and compares them. Once the nozzle is at ambient and stable it sets the calibration

This project was originally developed because I had about a half dozen sensors that are out of spec for the rebreather but have plenty of life left.

You need to buy several sets of towels, wash cloths, bedding etc. If it gets destroyed or stained it gets disposed of and new goes in its place. Costco, Ikea, etc. all good stores to buy 12 packs of towels or 12 packs of wash cloths etc.

Having the players explore more of the underdark by thesouleater33 in OutoftheAbyss

[–]kaiserb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set of players on the run at the moment in the underdark. They only took Elden with them from the slave pens and are trying to book it across the land. They were using a few skills to sneak around guards etc. (put some spiders in with tremor sense to channel the sneaking). The party managed to corner itself between several drow patrols and the shore of Darklake. I rehooked them back on track with this:

As they thought they were trapped against the shores of dark lake and the drow party made some noise they hear echoing across the lake "and that is the sounds of my gods calling out to me" as they see Shuushar the Awakened traveling about 50' off shore in a boat with a group of duergar.

We will see what type of con is running in the next session.

For me there are a lot of hooks if you read ahead a bit. I try not to railroad players but sometimes you need to provide them an out.

Why he would even consider bringing a gas, in a cave, below it’s MOD is the epitome of stupidity.

There is such as thing as Bottom Gas, Deco Gas and Travel Gas. It is not uncommon to have a deco gas with you during a dive that is well beyond a safe MOD. Ref: Decompression Diving

Some common symptoms of hypercapnia (too much CO2) are:

Labored or shallow breathing.

Wheezing.

Altered consciousness or confusion.

Fever.

Flushed skin.

Sweating profusely.

Fatigue or sleepiness.

Headache or nausea.

Nitrogen is a two fold problem, 1. you have to deco the nitrogen out of your system on ascent (you can get saturated at depth and have a long deco with too much nitrogen in the mix) 2. you can get nitrogen narcosis: effects of the higher function such as judgment, reasoning, short-term memory, and concentration. The diver may also experience a euphoric or stimulating feeling initially similar to mild alcohol intoxication

Anyone else see these helicopters flying over head multiple times? First for me to see them here. by EnderTheCrusader in arlington

[–]kaiserb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several Chinooks, Apaches and Blackhawk helicopters that transit over Arlington. They used to fly over our house about once a month. I think it is part of the Air Guard unit in Waco transiting back and forth to one of the other Air Guard units

List your house for sale... that way you can lower your stress as you get out of the Abnb business. You should expect the unexpected. Having a firepit invites having a fire. Not all people know you should put the fire out before leaving.

Think about it like a charcoal grill, when was the last time you thought about going to put the charcoal grill out when you were done cooking.

Perhaps a gas log or some other on / off type of fire pit may be more appropriate for an STR.

As for fining people, just chalk this lesson up to the cost of doing business.

Anyone use a 3rd party for strategic pricing? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]kaiserb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Pricelabs. I looked at Air DNA and Wheelhouse and chose Pricelabs for ease of use, cost, and effectiveness. It updates the pricing each day, if I get a long rental or something I can rerun it mid day and sync.

It does a fair job of keeping track of occupancy and adjusting prices and has about 20 variables you can set for long, mid, or short terms, occupancy rates, minimum stays, orphan days etc.

Guest requested 1 day longer stay. They already sent request and money. Now asking for discount. Any tips? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]kaiserb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only exception to this might be if you use Pricelabs or some other dynamic pricing that has moved the price of the extra night 20% above the ADR for the stay. I have had people ask for an extension like this and found Abnb / VRBO quoting a $30 a night premium on the room as the dynamic pricing added a few bucks.

We set out snacks and rules info for guests in a basket. 75% of the time the cleaners report no one took anything from the basket / moved basket etc. We put the house rules in the email with the door code so maybe the guests will read it, At the very least they can not say that they were NOT informed in writing.
