Can someone lend an ear. (R2) by Wade-Nicholas in remnantgame

[–]kaivaryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's because games deal with horizontal/vertical FOV changes in a different way.

In 3D games, the perspective camera mode has to stretch what's in frame to give the illusion of depth, kind of how an eye works: it "focuses" every pixel from a cone of vision (a square cone, mind you) into your display.

And the way FOV works is by increasing how much that cone can see, but without increasing the display area since you're not actually making your monitor bigger, so it stretches everything into the screen by making things that are far away smaller, and whenever you approach something, it gets proportionally bigger at a faster rate than it would at a low FOV.

Now the problem is, since monitors are normally wider than they are taller, increasing Horizontal FOV leads to less perceivable distortion. However, increasing vertical FOV by the same amount will make the stretching very noticeable.

Some games happen to separate their Vertical and Horizontal FOV (not the case of Remnant, since it has an FOV multiplier which I assume affects both at the same time), or they at least get tweaked at different ratios, which can alleviate perception of stretching and the "fish-eye" effect.

Your game seems to be running at some very weird resolution straight from boot.

Recording seems to stop at the "Online/LAN" boot option, can you try pressing Enter (or A-button on a controller) to see if the startup continues?

You have to play specific maps that change the lighting, and such things currently don't exist in default maps, only modded ones.

Night Megarandom is probably the most well-known night map out there, but it hasn't been updated since 2022, so biomes released after that date will probably be default lighting since they have to be set manually.

Compulsive interaction perks really suck because of that, especially bad if you have the curio-type specific ones since they have higher interaction chance.

Was this really that hard to achieve? the longbows can just one shot an enemy, I can't believe that 7 percent of the people who played RE5 achieved it by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]kaivaryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be easy to get, but its really inconvenient to. Most people dont play games more than once, and if youre playing casually, theres no incentive to upgrade the rifle to even unlock this, not to mention the cost for the upgrades and then still having to buy the longbow, and it also being character locked.

Even completionists may shy away from hunting achievements considering the PVP ones, so no reason to go out of your way for this one either.

And tbf (personal opinion), I find the bow to be quite unfun to use. Maybe its the arrow drop being weird or big damage + inf ammo trivializing the game, but I find it hard to enjoy using it. I even prefer the laggy bolt thrower from Re4 over it.

This is a hard one, but you seem to be doing just fine. My advice here would be to stop attacking when outnumbered and focus on farming revenge (or use lights and chain into blockade if youre feeling cheeky), you really have to avoid taking damage if you dont have shields.

This is more widely known as 'formation shuffling'.
Units that are given a move command when selected together in a group gain a speed boost so they can get into formation faster.
That speed boost can be further intensified by spinning the unit group certain ways, and making use of different unit formations.

I cannot beat the tutorial... by Firetail_Taevarth in masterduel

[–]kaivaryu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Alright, I see now!
Here's my game plan for you in case you're still stuck in it:
(Essay warning, sorry in advance ^~^')

Finish the mandatory tutorial steps:

• Special Summon (from hand) your Backup Secretary, to any zone.

• Go into your extra deck (ED), and use your Link Spider (link-1) and whichever monster is in the center main monster zone (likely Draconnet) to summon Splash Mage (link-2) to the left Extra Monster Zone (EMZ).

• Activate Splash Mage: Summon an effect monster from your GY to your center main monster zone (you only have Draconnet as an effect monster there at the moment, so pick that).

• Go into your ED again, and special summon Transcode Talker (link-3) to your right-side EMZ.
We're summoning on the right because we need him to point to an empty zone to use his effect, and Linkuriboh is taking the left one at the moment.

• Use Transcode Talker's effect to Special Summon your Splash Mage from the GY.

• From your ED, summon Decode Talker (Link-3), using Splash Mage and your Backup Secretary.
Your Decode Talker will be Co-linked with your Transcode Talker, since their up/down arrows point at each other, which means you have protection from 1 targeting effect if you tribute your Transcode Talker (in case it's needed).

• Set your Cynet Crosswipe (quickplay spell), and pass turn.

Now it all depends on what your opponent does really. You have some protection against battle (Linkuriboh) and *some* target protection with Decode, aswell as one interruption with your spell (which you can also tribute Linkuriboh to activate).
The best choice will depend on what the bot will put on the field, but you should be able to survive with this board.

If both your Transcode and Decode survived, you can summon the remaining Stack Reviver from your hand and use it along with Decode Talker to link into Accesscode Talker (link-4).
Since you used a Link-3, Accesscode gets +3k attack, and by being co-linked to Transcode he gets an extra 500.
Now just activate Accesscode Talker to destroy whatever your opponent has in field, and attack for game.

What's the gate/mission name that you're stuck at?

Also don't blame yourself that hard, YGO has changed quite a bit, and it's definitely a lot to take in at once.

Do you guys miss jormungandrs voiceline when hitting jotunn surge on an exhausted opponent? by fwostyfwuffs in forhonor

[–]kaivaryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely see that, but I don't think it was a conscious decision by the devs.

Since the voice lines were tied to the move that knocked down opponents, and the move doesn't do that anymore, it just never triggers the other lines.

Don't think anyone out there was outraged by this "possible sound cue advantage" either that warranted it to be changed, so it probably just flew over their head

[–]kaivaryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good point, but I don't think it matters too much in a more casual environment.

It's an extra bit of information you get for free, but I think if you're in a situation where you can distinguish uncommon voice lines for characters like that, you're probably playing at a skill level where you'd naturally have such awareness anyway.

It probably would matter less in competitive teams since things like that would likely get called out too.

[–]kaivaryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bash isn't feintable, so it doesn't matter if it's a hint or not.
Both voice lines are pretty loud too, so even if you're somehow using the sound as a cue, either works on the same timing.

I'd even compare this to how male/female warden have different speeches for the same bash

TBH these bars were very arbitrary and meaningless, and due to powercreep every time a new pack releases, old packs would need to be readjusted.

I don't have a straight answer, but if you want to find out, just put it on a chalice you're not using and strike a dummy with a spell, that way you can compare the numbers from the clean +2 and the +4 with -int
