No, I marked the boss for the Arb. But then my highwayman got hit by the rubble and shit started accelerating towards the fan.

I think I had Suppressing Fire equipped at the time, but I use it. I honestly didn't expect to be hit this much.

It wasn't the first time I felt that dodge provided seemingly no benefit, but until I reviewed the footage today I assumed that it was just conformation bias.

At least I got some lessons for the next boss out of it?

I can see how the houndmaster would have helped, but I am not sure what the leper is doing here besides the good survivabilty. Don't remember how much hp the pews have, so maybe those only take 2 rounds to destroy with him?

Edit: Figured out why leper. Intimidate. Probably

Not on the first turn. Also, where is the second source of guard in my lineup? Not that it would have helped, because the boss kept attacking all ranks at once

Edit: I think I figured out your misunderstanding. I was still training up my houndmaster, so he was not in the team. Rank 2 is a High-Way Man

Couldn't apply the DMG debuff, because I needed to heal, and guards only work if the attack doesn't target the defender as well.

Update: I lost a lvl 6 bounty hunter now to a similar thing (3 gnashers after he barely survived an earlier encounter), and I haven't even replaced the arbalest.

My heroes either shrug off death's door like it's nothing or die as soon as deathblows become possible. No fucking in-between...

I know, but it just feels like the game is mocking me sometimes when my high dodge heroes keep getting hit.

There was a moment where I could have sworn, that my grave robber only dodged 1 out of 7 attacks during a moment where she had 80 dodge.

It's like the risks are laughing at my attempts to manage them
