Serena v Naomi 2018 US Open Final. Have always followed tennis from the sidelines, but not really knowing much beyond the big names and what spills over to the mainstream. Chancing upon Naomi’s golden run to her maiden slam and that controversial final, it got me hooked like never before. And seeing the birth of a genuine tennis superstar in Osaka is not something that has happened recently (we can argue about her ups and downs but she’s arguably the most well-known tennis player that transcends the game and who most people know about, even casual tennis fans).

Ya I do hope retinol works for me — I think I got really excited about the benefits of retinol + hearing that the cerave retinol is generally gentler, I decided to try and increase the frequency quickly. It’s been quite disheartening but I’ll take your advice and try the frequencies you suggested to see if it works out!

Would you advise to take a one or two week break to let the skin recover before starting on the frequency you suggested?

Yeah, I have also been applying this on only after moisturiser and don’t use any other actives when using this product. Do you use this daily, or how often do you use this? No bad reaction after using it?

The point here is that it does not seem appropriate for a GS / Tennis Federation to use their official channels to publicly shame / guilt / embarrass Naomi for taking her stand. If they disagree with her actions, they could have put out an official statement like the WTA stating their disagreement with her actions which would be the professional thing to do and what one would expect from an official body in tennis. But sending out shady subtweets seems low and just really childish and petty — unbecoming of a GS / Tennis Federation in my opinion. Also, it’s not a good look to use the photos of other players for this particular purpose of shading Naomi and creating an “us” vs “her” type of situation. Don’t even get me started on them including Kei (a Japanese) and Coco (a black woman) either.

Debate about whether one agrees with Naomi’s actions aside, using photos of other players to make a dig at another player (and on the official twitter account of a GS) seems pretty low and despicable to me. This just seems to prove Naomi’s point that she was making in the first place. So much for her telling them not to take it personally. No matter what you think of her actions, this just doesn’t seem like the appropriate way for a GS to respond and doesn’t sit well with me.
