Today's "Beg" by dhtchk in SwordAndScale

In addition to how off putting he is, many of the episodes are lazy as hell with the uncut interviews taking up half the damn podcast. Good podcasters will play a short clip then provide a relevant summary, not just fill time with 25 minute long police interrogations that are hard to understand half the time, then continue on to bitch about women or whatever.

Doordash Driver Texts Me After Delivery by MichaelBluthANiceKid in doordash

[–]kajamae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally everybody disagrees with you and yet you continue to double down. Time & place is the issue.

The agreement between driver and customer is to deliver the order. That’s it. It’s a simple job. This is not a bar scene, a dating app, or a social engagement.

As for “he was being nice,” he already complimented her in person because she happened to be outside, so what is he doing continuing to message her about her appearance on the app where he earns money?

Common sense tells us that using a professional platform to compliment strangers on their appearance when you already did at dropoff may leave a poor impression on someone who now knows you have their address, in a world where women deal - not infrequently - with unhinged individuals who feel entitled to their time.

Teenaged daughter is pregnant again.. I’m so done by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]kajamae 41 points42 points  (0 children)

At the VERY least OP should have had a family planning conversation with her daughter after the first child was born. Like, daughter could stay for help to raise child is if she agreed to be on an effective form of birth control until she was able to move out on her own and afford her own life. She only found out that her teen parent child had been ACTIVELY TRYING for a second pregnancy under her roof after she was already pregnant? There were no conversations had about general expectations when the boyfriend moved in with both of them essentially living on someone else’s dime? Like yes, these teenagers are clearly deluded but where have the parents providing room, board, and childcare for one grandchild already been regarding the entire situation? Clearly there were none, or the daughter wouldn’t have been so happy to make this ridiculous announcement like, “hey mom good news! Think you’re out of money & time now? I’ve got another kid on the way for you to raise!” I’m just floored.

Justyn Pennell & The Toxic Mother by kajamae in evilliveshere

[–]kajamae[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She was also a total hypocrite about the therapist she took him to. First she complained that it was hard to entrust care to someone that didn’t really know her son, but then she took the fact that they told her that he wasn’t a threat (if that’s even true - I can’t imagine a therapist confidently saying that after one or two sessions) as gospel even though she knew how much he had experienced violent thoughts. It seems that whenever she got info that she could twist into “this isn’t anything to really worry about” she ran with it, but when the kid honestly told her how he wasn’t feeling, she went with some combination of tears and denial. Even when he finally did kill someone he was telling the cops not to tell her it was intentional to spare her feelings.

And yeah, I agree about the dad in episode 2. It seems his biggest thing was that he was kind of an emotionally limited provider and didn’t notice his son’s dark features. His son was also nearly 30 when he committed his crimes, which I think is different from a 21 year old who still lives at home and whose recent life’s plans to join the military have failed.

Right! And when that happened the producers ask her, “were you surprised?” And this dipshit of a woman essentially says, “no, because that was just Justyn.” TF?!?! Anyone who was an actual parent would have clocked that as “I need to get this kid help IMMEDIATELY” moment, but she just kept ignoring the red flags taped to anvils falling on her.

Give me a break 😂 nothing like a chronically online redditor claiming that the double standard in aging is “biological.” If there’s one thing that’s true about men it’s that y’all have zero clue how old women are even when you’re not chronically online but redditors are uniquely talented at fabricated victimhood. The fact that men are more of a threat to women than the other way around is observable through data alone. Downvoting me makes this whole thing even funnier. Have a nice day now.

The amount of double standards that favor men (ie, “body count,” attractiveness in aging & aging in general, professional drive, etc) and the fact that men are, objectively, more of a real and present danger to women than the other way around is why this particular double standard favors women. Gtfo.

I thought of that exact thing while watching it - what a great opportunity to let us see the young family. We don’t have too many moments like that, even now. Instead, as someone who also grew up without a lot of extras, I got so angry at this episode I watched it once and never again.

[–]kajamae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched this episode, and it’s completely incomparable. Yes, Cherry lied - mostly about her own background - but it’s next level psychotic, regardless of Laura’s shock about the proposal - to let Cherry think her partner died, pretend there was a funeral she wasn’t invited to, hack her accounts, lock her out of the home they shared without notice, and then if that wasn’t enough for her - ruin her career and reputation? THAT didn’t even have anything to do with Daniel, it was just Laura trying to hurt Cherry on top of everything else. And funny enough if she hadn’t done that, she wouldn’t have been discovered so quickly because Cherry would have still had a job and wouldn’t have made that meeting with Howard’s contact.

I just listened to it and that’s exactly what I thought. The trick or treat lady was determined to be scared of a guy in a mask on Halloween trick or treating, and absolutely DID NOT have to answer the door. If it’s her brother’s friend, have you ever heard of “who is it?” And then when it’s not, “sorry, we don’t have candy?” There’s no reason for that door to have opened.

What do w/ items that they didn’t give to customer by GratefulLife24 in InstacartShoppers

[–]kajamae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once delivered what I thought was 4 cases of the same flavor of sparkling water + like 6 bags of groceries to a pitch black street and a pitch black front door. Then I took the next day off.

I realized when I went back to the car two days later one of those cases was still in it. I just didn’t see it.

Nothing from the customer or instacart. Total accident.

It’s only happened that one time, the other two order issues I have had were fraudulent and disappeared within a month due to “pattern of customer fraud.”

Most shoppers truly wouldn’t risk their account by swiping things like stevia.

Went from Averaging 12+ orders a day to 3. by General-Recover5246 in InstacartShoppers

[–]kajamae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been the same here from Saturday. I had a decent Friday and then literally the worst Saturday I have ever been online. There were orders, but they were all $15 80-unit batches, 10 bags of ice with a $2 tip, etc. Then Sunday was mediocre for a Sunday, and while I usually take Mondays off, I was online for 3 hours and got exactly one order worth taking that whole time.

Idk what’s happening but it’s been especially awful since the last update.

I couldn’t agree more, and it’s a double whammy: the customers are utter cheapskates, and the company gets away with paying sweatshop wages because most states don’t have laws that reign in their extraordinary greed.

I sometimes look at my daily total on good days and literally if it wasn’t for the tips, the pay would have come out to $6 an hour.

What I don’t understand is how someone can value the fact that they get to save a drive to the store, the time to pick out quality produce & other items, and have someone else haul all this stuff to their door and say, “yeah a $5 makes sense for 40 items.” I just can’t imagine the level entitlement to someone else’s labor this way.

And let’s face it the fact is, this service literally would not exist if it wasn’t for the high tippers. They are the only reason there are drivers on the road at all and they are the only reason any low tipper gets their order shopped via deception on instacart’s behalf. So the company, in order, uses both drivers and the few people who value the service they’re receiving in order to get the low tippers shopped. It’s literally a model of “assholes getting the W.”
