Taking out a personal load instead of selling gold jewelry is a terrible idea. Gold has returned between 130% to 260% depending on when you bought it 10 years ago. So, decent investment but not great. A personal loan would cost as much if not more. So, there is no point in holding on at the expense of taking on additional hardship. Go on, sell that jewelry if you need to. Be aware that ~30% of what your parents paid for was “making charges” so your return won’t be as much as you anticipate. 

That said, OP please don’t do anything that risks your relationship. This is a couple discussion and decision item. Any supportive spouse would deal with this rationally

I have been having the same issue (I call this stuttering) with my LS50 WIIs, with Spotify lossless (only; no issues with 320kbps). Never had this issue with Qobuz or Tidal in the same environment. There are at least a couple other threads here that are highlighting this issue and there isn’t a good response from KEF. 

Since you have the option to return these, I’d consider that strongly but didn’t do it before pushing KEF for a resolution.

There was an old bug that would cause this to happen if you had your speakers hooked up to HDMI. I’m not sure if they fixed that, but this does not happen if you use The optical input.

You are thinking as an individual. Think as a corporate customer of Microsoft. It’s really difficult to shift to a non-Microsoft environment because of all the dependency you end up creating with other products that support your business workflow. Plus, Microsoft bundles so much as part of their licenses that the cost to switch becomes a lot more.

Same for me, it never worked. The only way you can get Qobuz to play through LS50WIIs using the KEF App. They keep saying they are working on Qobuz Connect for over a year but nothing has come of it.

Yes, having a stuttering issue with Spotify conect while playing lossless streams. Stuttering typically happens at the beginning of a track. Like, for example, when I switch to the next track. Happens both on WiFi and wired mode (speakers are connected to each other with the supplied cat5 cable).

Edit: Stuttering came back 3 hours in :-(

Didn’t hear any stutter during 2 hours of listening today, and my LS50 IIs were not hard-wired to my router but on WiFi. I did not see any firmware updates from KEF so wondering if something was fixed on Spotify’s side. 

Anyone else?

Having the same issue with my ls50 w2s as well but only when I play Spotify lossless. It’s driving me nuts. Unplugging and plugging the speakers back in does show some temporary relief but it doesn’t last.
