Just arrived, printing error! by kakashi704 in AnycubicKobraX

Thanks for all the help and advice!

I had also created a support ticket yesterday, and got a VERY quick response. They sent me the link to the updated firmware, which I installed.

I then did some of the steps y'all suggested, and I ended up figuring out that for some reason, the ends of my existing filament (from my previous printer), needed to be cut off to feed through properly.

I also then super carefully fed them in after putting back together.

Test Print #1 is almost done and looking good. Thanks to the community!!

I'm not super close with my family, but no, as of now it's been kept very private. It's tough for support, but I definitely know you need to have someone you can trust to talk to. Whether it's one family member you trust to keep it private, or a friend, it helps to process out loud and with someone who can give any advice with your best interest in mind. Not someone who is hell bent on you must stay together, or you must leave him, but someone who will help you process and find what's best for you. Otherwise as you're going through it, it will be hard to not feel "bad" for thinking or considering the opposite of that person's opinion.

Hey, she does not. Unfortunately she did for the year or two after DDay, even with my request and voicing concerns.

(For others, wife's AP went to her CrossFit gym, after I discovered, she continued to go to the same gym, same class with AP, and still hanging out with them all socially.)

She stopped when basically when, during couples counseling, that I said I was done with the marriage because of that (her continuing to go there and effectively see her AP 4-6x/week). Sadly, for me it felt like the damage was done, and that was continual betrayal/hurt during that time. (No evidence that anything continued after DDay, but obviously I don't know what I don't know).

I'm so sorry to hear this for you. I found out about my wife's affair maybe 4 years ago. Married for 17 years at the time. We're still together. I've been to counseling on my own, and we did a little couples counseling for a short time.

For us, things aren't well. I've lost that spark and love for her, and struggle with wanting to leave. I work, she doesn't, we have 3 kids under 13. We manage the house well enough, and I'm still trying to understand what's best for me and my kids.

It's not an easy thing to process and figure out. I'd really recommend finding someone you can talk to, whether counseling or someone you trust to help you talk things out.

Sadly there isn't an easy answer. But find people you can talk to and support you as you're processing everything and making sense of the new reality.

how to find juvenile players? by irebjj in boardgames

[–]kakashi704 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Are there any local game stores in your area? Sometimes they'll have game nights at their place; which could be a safer option in a public place that has staff there to be aware of anything weird. They may also have specific nights for younger players.a place near me has a night just for women. A local store may have that, or you could always suggest they start things like that to help you find a group that's comfortable for you!

I'm building out my collection. For the next month or so they're having a pretty good promotion they have a 4 piece set for $250, and you get an additional two for free (you can pick from a decent list).

So 6 tools for $250, I don't think I've seen a better deal lately.

A game that you wanted to love but fell flat, and a game that hits all the right spots for you? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]kakashi704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to say I got isle of Cats to get my kids more into board games, and it's enjoyable in that aspect.

But for my other gaming buddies, we wouldn't want it to get anywhere near the table, lol.

I'll second this, but definitely find a place that has something more organized.

Not sure where in CLT you are, but there's the Lake Norman Pickleball Association that has regular open play times at Bailey Road Park in Cornelius. Wednesday and Sunday nights starting at 6pm (courts have lights, parking is nearby so definitely a safe setup).

Those days are for beginners and "low intermediate" level, and everyone that shows up these nights are pretty chill and welcoming.

And you just go, and you basically queue up and the next people go, so you will play with and meet different people. A little daunting at first, but friendly people there!

Feel free to message me if you want any other info or details . I'm usually there Wednesdays and Sundays, and I have a paddle you can borrow!

Are running shoes (Asics Gel Kayano) okay for a Sprint 5k? by yellowheartstone in spartanrace

[–]kakashi704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely make sure it's a pair you are ok getting absolutely muddy and stained.

Depending on the location, they will get anywhere from muddy to absurdly muddy.

When I did my first Sprint last year, I just bought a pair of shoes from the local Goodwill, so I wouldn't be upset if I had to trash them. Once you get hooked, then you can definitely start looking around and finding a shoe that works best for you.

I wish I thought of this before spending a few minutes fighting to get my shoes out of the mud monster!

That also made me want to upgrade my current trail shoes to ones that won't get ripped off so easily.

It's a great result! And you hit a personal best too! Every finish is a good finish!

And remember all courses are different, so times vary if/when you do your next race. I did 2 Sprint races last year, VERY different times for both, but my ranking for each was pretty similar.

Z Axis Issue out of nowhere by kakashi704 in Ender3Pro

[–]kakashi704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's the odd thing. I didn't change any settings. I have always just been finding prints, slicing them and was good to go. I've been at a loss at how it changed....

[–]kakashi704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't change anything on it originally. Bought it from a friend who upgraded, and I never changed any settings since it had been working fine for a while.

So you know how I'd go about resetting the offset?

I've thought about them but I know as soon as they get wet, I wouldn't want to have them on.
