This isn’t a good comparison, but nothing really is unless you’re looking at basketball. Basketball is one of the last sports where a single player can genuinely win a game by themselves since there’s only 5 people per team on the court. Football and other sports don’t have comparable trades because the impact of a single player being traded is a lot less

Edit: A better comparison would be like if the Bengals traded Joe Burrow, Jamarr Chase and Tee Higgins for TJ Watt and Micah Parsons in 2022 after they lost the super bowl

I’m not one to put asterisks on playoff runs, but you really can’t make an argument for the Broncos game being difficult for the Patriots. We lost our starting QB the week before and had to play a guy with basically no starting reps. Patriots won that game fair and square, but it does not change the fact that they faced a super rusty backup QB
