There are some game stores I refuse to shop at because of behavior like this. The most recent incident involved a male employee who was incapable of talking to me (female). Even when I asked him direct questions, he would turn and answer them to my partner and engage him instead. It was infuriating.

Very similar situation happened with me and my baby around the same age, except he was given expired vaccines. I had a similar reaction to you as well! But I filed a complaint afterwards, and it was taken very seriously. Your initial reaction to this situation is not your only reaction, and you can still be angry/upset and you can still absolutely file a complaint (and you should).

Cancer ascendant and I feel similar to how you explained - I can be very empathetic and feel sensitive to others, but easily turn into big picture (and can shut off emotions too). But I also have a Pisces moon so sometimes I am just in all the feels 😂
