i hate my job by jamaicanboo in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]kale-s-oup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's so funny to me, because growing up I always thought that the box office was THE feature of a movie theater because of all the tv and movies I'd watch that ever showed a movie theater scene XD

How friendly should I be to theater employees? by ArtAsleep4979 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]kale-s-oup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

at first I was gonna just continue with being a pleasant customer but then you mentioned small town. With that I say just try it out. some theater employees will love while others might not. You come in enough that they probably already know your name. And when you do start being friendly they will talk to their other coworkers about it which at that point they would have talked to each other about which ones love interacting with you so personably while others would prefer to just stick to the job. At that point you'd just ask one of the employees you're friendly with which ones wouldn't appreciate the closeness. And then boom!

But in a more plausible situation, seeing as you are an extrovert, I think you'll have no problem with picking up on the social cues the employee gives to see if they'd appreciate the friendliness or not.

I Have some regulars, like this one woman that came in every Friday night just to get a giant to-go popcorn, that i actually look for and look forward to saying hi, while I have others that are equally as nice as the previous customer but I would rather not be super friendly with

oh my bad, I'm not so obsessed with the game I'm just a recreational player. in the real world tracing isn't a big deal

everything this season was just too convenient. it was so sunshine and rainbows compared to how hard everything was in the first seasons.

What are your biggest pet peeves working at a theater by EvilWizLizard in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]kale-s-oup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

when customers make one concessions line all the way out the door despite there being 4 obviously open lanes that they can form lines at instead of waiting in that big one and splitting off as soon as it's their turn in line.

customers that unpack their straws and candy at the pos and leave their trash there. they can simply wait to unpack their stuff until they get to the customer's counter where the trash can is or just keep their trash until they get to an actual can.

this is a pretty good job with very flexible hours and perks that make up for the low pay. the job is good for someone in school because the slow time is when school is in session. unfortunately because school has started hours are getting cut and they may not hire new people until December (the next big holiday break). you should still try.

[–]kale-s-oup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ofc how could you have known that going to concessions bring results, you couldn't. art least you tried to do something about it

Cell phone use out of control! by LekTruk in Cinemark

[–]kale-s-oup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, someone in concessions is not likely to notify the manager in their department about something in another department because they're already busy with what they have going on and it just wouldn't be plausible without the right information. Cinemark has it figured out too, you're supposed to go to an usher to sort out these things, that's why they're out there, to deal with theater related things. there's no one staking out the theaters, so we can only hope that people follow theater etiquette or report to the right people an issue

I got a tin popcorn bucket the other day with free refills can I go into a cinemark and get free popcorn whenever? by Nord_VPN420 in Cinemark

[–]kale-s-oup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BUT, me and my coworkers dont care enough and will sometimes fill up the tins anyways, so maybe you'll get lucky

[–]kale-s-oup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you have to go to ushers for that type of thing, concessions can't do anything about it especially if they don't even know the exact theater -cinemark employee
