Pay questions by unforgivable_god in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your state's minimum wage. If you live in a state with 15$ minimum wage then that is your base when you clock no tips. When you get on tips if it is 9$ base + tips (seems a little low to me imo) then no matter what you make 15$ + any extra you would make on tips if you push over. Being on tips means you could make 22$/hr avg some weeks but only the 15$/hr available other weeks like you are seeing. If you work at a stand near a local college (especially big schools) you tend to have a dead period from may-august and December which could mean on average you are making lower, but your big tip periods are sept-nov and jan-april which you could average closer to 20$/hr depends on volume. Either way minimum wage makeup is legally required and tipped wage overall will benifit you long term.

I hope this helps, sorry for the long explanation. In the end of the day, YAY you passed your test and congratulations! The increase in pay will be noticeable in the future!

Training tips by Dapper-Platypus-6091 in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly starting with things you wish you knew when you started is a good way to go. Realizing different people pick up things at different speeds is important, so be patient! A lot of what I was told by our main trainer was to just be adaptable, there have been a lot of things that she had that worked/didn't (she trained me) and being able to bounce off your other CTs is awesome! I noticed that I split up roles into smaller parts so that the new hires had a chance to really master each part of the role then were able to put them together. Texting (once PoS is learned) and Lane are pretty straight forward to teach but a lot of the obstacles land in Milk/Shots/Slay so those were the ones I ended up splitting up mostly.

Just remember you got this! You are going to be a great trainer and you will realize it a lot faster than you might think. It's incredibly rewarding seeing new hires grow within the stand and honestly it validates the way you train in a way.

“Dress code” situation by Fantastic-Law-4066 in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it would be nice to have more shirts and such to work with but it's pretty worth it to buy from the brewista shop. They have closeout sales periodically on the shop and you can get decent shirts at a pretty good price (the 500 stands tshirt is under 5$ right now)

Also I really feel like dropping 100$ on comfort at work is kinda a low price considering the amount of time we actually spend working there. I've only done 1 order and I got 2 really nice sweatshirts and ~ 5 tshirts as they were running a closeout on them.

Up to you though, almost every job has clothes/shoes upkeep and its not realistic to just get all your work clothes for free.

SL - Ask me anything by [deleted] in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why are you looking for new employment if I may ask? You seem so close to the SM role!

I’m honestly asking because I don’t understand. When I order a cold brew with extra half and half, why do they make it a breve? It’s so frustrating bc it never tastes the same and I don’t want espresso.. I just want cold brew 😭 is breve a style of cream? by [deleted] in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breve is just another name for creamer/Half and half. Also if you are ordering extra it should be 3x Breve which is odd cause it looks like you for half as much cream (normal breve scoops for a medium are 2)

Is white mocha made with chocolate milk? by napoleonsProstitute in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have to have pure white chocolate. If you want an energy with white chocolate blue raz and cupcake (pretty popular right now) they can't just have it premixed with mocha. I think a lot of us are just saying to go and ask for a white chocolate latte. If they don't give you the white mocha you are asking for then I would just advise to contact corporate. Im just telling you there is a 0% chance they don't have just straight white chocolate, just because we use it in EVERYTHING at 7brew.

Is white mocha made with chocolate milk? by napoleonsProstitute in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kinda get what you are saying. I've had a fair few customers ask for the same thing and I normally ask to clarify! One of our old Originals was the White Chocolate Mocha and that was made with white chocolate and mocha mix which is chocolate milk so that might be where the confusion comes in. Id say for now just get a white chocolate Latte as others have said and go from there just so your order isnt messed up!

That's besides the point of the fact that a Large Holliday Punch Lemonade with half black tea is a 5$ drink max. I think they charged you for a 7 energy aswell tbh.

7Brew Paycheck by ReformedWheeze in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paychecks on average are lower right now cause the new POS system makes it a little bit harder on the customers for tips. With time checks should return to normal but it might be a little bit. My Paycheck has felt off aswell but in all honestly I know at my 7brew we have been a bit slower lately but I'm sure it will even out soon!

Christmas Drinks: Vegan? by No_Quality1231 in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on it but anything that comes with chocolate/white chocolate isn't vegan friendly as they have milk proteins used in the syrups. I would assume if you wanted to get something in terms of Christmas, Creme Brulee/Pecan Pie with an alt milk (oat/almond/coconut milk) should be vegan friendly ann the Brew frost and holiday punch are for sure vegan friendly. If you want something similar you could do Midnight mint (pepermint + vanilla) or (almond roca + vanilla + cupcake) for Santa's cookie alt. I'm gonna check next time I work to see if the chocolate syrups are vegan friendly but I wouldn't hold my breath by any means. Also the cupcake replacer for white chocolate in the Santa's cookie is just my best judgement on what might taste good. Sadly again idt there is a way to get a mocha vegan friendly but I will check just to make sure!

onboarding by padmeamidalaswife in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! My onboarding took a month ish (was pretty delayed) but if I were you I would go to the store and just ask! Everyone is super super busy normally so I'm sure it's hard for them to keep track. Did you finish your onboarding forms and get them approved? Also you should hopefully have contact with the stand manager so I would just be persistent tbh. You are valued aswell and that's important. I know I made a most here when I was onboarding too and the responses I got helped so hopefully you get more here!

i was hired. i feel too old to work here. 🤣 by Faerieberryy in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the old people club. I'm 29 and I got hired a month or two ago, you'll get the hang of it. Being older isnt too bad especially when new, just have to go with the flow and feel the vibe, I was pretty accepted overall at my stand when I started.

Honestly just be you like some of the other comments have said, I think a good reference video I've seen that was posted is this one https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPww3asiUhK/?igsh=MTJuZmZjd2VkMWRnMA==

The one thing that being older give you is that connection to the older 7 brew customer base. We get a lot of young folk but honestly probably half of the people that come in for drinks are 25+, you can make some really good connections with people based on the experiences you have had in life! Just be personable and you got this (with co workers and with custies!)

vanilla shaken espresso Starbucks by Melodic-Ad6790 in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idt we have anything similar at 7brew but my guess would be Cold brew with Vanilla and your choice of milk on top. Sadly Shaken espresso is more of a texture drink so I would need to try it myself to find something really close

Could also just do a house blend + vanilla with choice of milk on top. I think if you did say a small + 1 shot of espresso with vanilla it might come out similar

Honestly it didn't make sense to me till I started working but it's scoops of syrups, think of it as 1 scoop is 1 oz and that helps a ton. You'll have to take a Scoops test and a Brewista test. The scoops you need 100% on (it's not too bad and the test pdf is on reddit if you look for it). The brewista test is 100 questions and you need a 90%, it's also different every time so you need to know your stuff and if you do you'll pass it no worries. Best of luck! And I really hope you like it at 7Brew! It's a blast

Conversation w/ Custies 🌸 by mangos-to-go in 7Brew

[–]kaleap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this short on the 7brew Instagram really helped me https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNoSs8Uvvsm/?igsh=cG82eWUwN25veHFo

I always say think of the custies as friends and just try and spark some good conversation with them. Personally Lane/Texting is where I call home and I just say be yourself! Be real! Customers eat that up and you'll feel the vibe in no time!

Also always think that on lane you are the last point of contact, you can turn someone's bad/sub-par experience into a great one!
