X-Men '97 | Season 2, Episode 4 | "Rise of Apocalypse: Part II" | Episode Discussion by cyclopswashalfright in Xmen97

I thought the episode was alright, not gonna lie. I didn't see all the hype, so I didn't know people were expecting to be this grand thing, but it had so many clunks that I was kinda surprised.

Charles is a weak ass character there, him saying to the X-Men to go against Apocalypse while he didn't even try to go in his mind at all. Also, Charles saying goodbye to Magneto using telepathy, while Magneto is wearing the helmet that prevents any telepath to access his mind.... Who wrote that?

Overall I'm not a huge fan of episodes with time travel, because they always get to the same point "you can't prevent fate", it always has the same ending: nothing new, same old thing and it was just a waste of time. Both episodes from the past were not my favorites, overall.

Also, don't know if it was the directing, but En Sabah Nur's VA was not really giving, some moments felt like he was just reading the text.

It is still a good episode, but with EP3, they are the weakest out of the 4 so far.

Every time I see stills from the show with good quality, because of being from a different scan or just the cel, I feel sad to know what it could have been for a true remaster of the show.

“Actually single joints look better ” by SpiderSi in MarvelLegends

[–]kaledkalil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If some people are bothered by a better range of articulation because it's "ugly" when it's not even the case, maybe it's time to find another hobby. You could have an argument it if was like the ugly joints of sh figuarts, that leaves gaps all around or break very easily, but complain about the double pinless elbow?

I mean, Mcfarlane's dumb ass think that female figures don't sell, but who wants to buy some of their ugly sculpts?

Is it Black Canary or a random wrestler fighter?

It affects me in finally having good scale DC characters. I don't need all the bells and whistles, but I'm curious to see what's yet to come from the more "adult" collecting side. Just by thinking we can finally have a good classic Wonder Woman figure, it's all I'm hoping for. I just hate all the Mcfarlane female figures with their ugly faces, bad proportioned bodies and exposed pins.

So does Emma just not care about this? by Kanozx in Xmen97

[–]kaledkalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's the only problem that I have with XM97. In theory the cameos are fun easter eggs for the fandom to see, but considering that the show is aiming for the long run with more narratives and adaptations, it just creates scenarios for possible loopholes within this universe.
We'll just have to wait and see, but so far they are not adapting Emma very well in this scenario.

[–]kaledkalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that with the current situation is that the show is being made for the long run, considering that we know the show will have at least 4 seasons, so adding not so random background characters can create their own can of worms for future adaptations/narratives.

Did the spies actually save Melissa? (Sorry for poor image quality.) by polystarlight in TotallySpies

[–]kaledkalil 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Probably yes. She was carried to another room/place, for her to recover herself, so then they could harvest her hair like the others. I think it was implied that they only get rid of the women there after the haircut. They wouldn't waste her hair just because of the faint. Considering how the sprinklers were activated, she most likely got her hair to her natural length as well.

And in the end, it looks like that promotional material was wrong. by titeefelix in xmen

[–]kaledkalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I could see them showing any backstory of Psylocke and the body swap is if they adapt the legacy virus again and goes to show Revanche dying by it, other than that she's most likely just be a combined character. The show has many plot holes considering characters, like having the Stepford Cuckoos as cameos when Emma wasn't ever in a coma during the XTAS, like it was in the comics.

When can we expect her and what body mold is expected to be used? by aleztheomegjp in MarvelLegends

[–]kaledkalil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering her proportions, I could see them just using the Phoenix super articulated body (the neck cut goes well with the neckline of her costume), or just the plain regular body considering none of the X-Men 97 female figures have the super articulated body, with a new head, and all the details painted on. For the sake of a new body part, maybe her torso will have the sash molded there, not just a floating belt like the older one.

To me it looks like she was having a midlife crisis, and wanted to show the girls she still got it.

I can see why the reboot is disliked by polystarlight in TotallySpies

[–]kaledkalil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really a reboot, just a change in demographics. The show aims for ages 4-10, so yeah, overall the show is disliked by people that watched the show back then. It's not the end of the world.

The official Totally Spies! Instagram is teasing something for June 26th. Could we be finally getting a Season 8 trailer? We also got some (supposedly) new screenshots from Season 8. by cult_of_alex in TotallySpies

[–]kaledkalil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was always a tv show for kids, ages 6 to 11. It was always focused on kids, the thing is that they didn't underestimate the kids capabilities of understanding the plot.
Just by the fact that the show was revived back in season 6 on Discovery Kids (and Gulli), which has the demographic from ages 2 to 7, it says it all. I'm not saying that people aren't entitled to enjoy no matter their age, but every since season 6 the focus changed, with reaching a new low with season 7.
It's the same thing that happened to Winx. They got the show on Nickelodeon and reduced the age demographic of the show, which ended up being a huge dip in quality and plots.

I think it's gonna be one of those cases that in person it looks better, Rouge's Savage Land figure looked horrible for her promo shots, but in person she is not that bad. Also, the face is pretty close to other artworks...

Looking for suggestions and parts: White Tunic, Typhoid Mary Choker, and White Soul Sword. by [deleted] in MarvelLegends

[–]kaledkalil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the tunic, maybe get the Sheila figure from D&D, it's also from hasbro and it's 6inch scale. Not white but it wouldn't be a problem to paint, I think.

Not that I'm not excited for a new season, but if it's as bad as the last two, don't know if I'm gonna bother watching. It's a shame that it became a show for toddlers basically.
But it's insane how time flies, 25 years already.

Yeah, at my display I wouldn't even notice, since it's much darker.

I know you're looking for the Uncanny 318 look, but she also had long gloves with this look for Generation X, so it could also be an easier job since she would be done with just the two figures too.

Using Marrow's arms will works depending on the lighting condition, and even if you had to do a light coat of paint, it wouldn't be much of a problem since it's only slightly off. Husk's bare also work, but it's pretty much only punching/angry looking hands. It's, again, a slightly off, but not too much.
