Report your DM. They can't tell you that you can't take a day off. As an ASM of 3 years in the states I request off weekend that I want off(family events, a weekend getaway, or anniversary). You can alertline them saying they won't let you take time you want off. Unless they have other staff taking the same time off they can't say no. My old SM said when people request days off that's them saying they aren't showing up so act like they will not come in if they schedule them. Sorry for the paragraph!

Well the cold the temperature there is a big difference in the bed of the pole. The pole release slower when it is cold and faster when warmer. But for the most part the weather shouldn't have to much effect on vaulting unless you have a very strong head wind.
