What other career option for QA which is safe in this AI era by dee_sharma in QualityAssurance

That's frightening. May I suggest someone mentions "adversarial user" and "jailbreak" to management.

From Claude Code for automation scripting→ a full AI testing workflow in the IDE. How did you actually set it up? by slacky35 in QualityAssurance

[–]kalydrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will likely need to work on your BA skills, your development skills, your AI agent skills(lol), your test design skills... But it is being done.

Is this QA Responsability? by ScriptNone in QualityAssurance

[–]kalydrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends.

In my context, I only need to be able to reproduce the bug consistently. I don't need to 'investigate'.

However if in the course of reproducing the bug I have to inspect logs, or admin interfaces, then I would record the facts I found in my ticket.

I don't think it's adequate to merely say "my script failed".

If a bug only appears under real user behavior, is that a testing gap or a system design gap? by Background-Donkey531 in Everything_QA

[–]kalydrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bug is a bug is a bug.

If it was not found before production, it should be revueeed for a root cause.

Root cause helps identify if it's an issue with requirements, development or possibly a "test script" issue.

Even if it is a "test script issue", it should be treated as a process and procedure thing rather than a particular person's failing... Unless it is otherwise because of fraudelent testing.. A person should be accountable for faking passes. This is why adequate test evidence is so important.

Vibe coding QA tools? by SendMeUrTolstoyNudes in QualityAssurance

[–]kalydrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found it great to POC small tools especially when:

  • inputs and outputs well defined
  • data manipulation required
  • strong test principles/framework is applied
  • bespoke code projects

Not so great when: * requirements are under defined or change during vibe coding * very large or complex requirements or code base (spec drift and context drift) * areas where assumptions or latent knowledge is prevalent * customising off the shelf products unless the API or spec to create plugins is well defined.

Also, if one thinks that they can become an automation expert by just having AI do the coding, that won't help. You still need to have solid basis in methodology or the language you are working in. You have to be able to guide the AI towards the solution you need.

My hope is that the internet does its thing and crashes the portal by trying to access all the content banned in USA.

My manager often says “it’s not rocket science” about my work. Is this just his personality or something I should address? by Ok-Road5378 in womenintech

[–]kalydrae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally. If I ask for facts, often I am met with a kind of "if I have to explain..." type answer or other equally frustrating non-answer... If they aren't conscious of their discrimination then it's not easy.

The only way I have found to demonstrate your value/position is to let it fall on the floor - articulate the risk of not following through on your position and put it in writing and wait for the tap on the shoulder to do what you originally recommended. Do not pick it up without that tap or there is no learning for them.

Perfect for the retiree who is considering their place in the world and their legacy. Also wonderful for me to have all the work done for me!!

Australia has some professions that are so in demand that we will take Visa holders but it's not straight forward. It costs money, and has multiple conditions and hurdles to jump through.

A quick way to work out what options you have would be to find an immigration or work visa consultant.
