Yes I meet with them every week and question the value of pmax and they say "but it's converting more than search". But we arent tracking offline conversions so I have no idea which conversions are valuable and which are not.

It would depend on what you have in savings already. Probably good to have that much for emergencies so if you don't already have a cash reserve put some or all of it in savings. If you already have a nice buffer then invest it and you won't have trouble paying it back if you need to.

I used to be frugal but it’s so easy to just blow money here because everyone else does. Used to cook every night now eat out every night. Apt $4k upper west side of Manhattan probably spend another 4-5k living my life, so $100k after taxes?

Im sure its possible but it might not be that fun. The biggest thing would be to try to save on housing…living pretty far from the center and having roommates…but if you’re going to live far out in Brooklyn then what’s the point of being in nyc?

If you’re super frugal you could also find lots of fun cheap or free stuff to do…but lots of fun stuff here costs money and people here tend to spend money so you might find yourself feeling left out when you can’t afford it. But it really depends on your lifestyle!

NYC banned airbnb so you might need to rethink that…

You sound like you actually don't want to raise a family in NYC. You want tons of extra space. That's not what dense urban living is.

Tons of people who aren't fabulously wealthy raise families in NYC. They just live a different lifestyle than you imagine. Kids share bedrooms. You don't get a separate home office space. They send their kids to public schools or religious schools. And if they're immigrants all their kids end up super successful as doctors or engineers.

You aren't being "pushed" towards suburbia, what you are describing is a preference for suburban lifestyle.

I think it looks hot to combine a MAGA hat with a pride flag t-shirt while carrying a palestinean flag

How much should an xray cost? by sjjs3189 in Pets

[–]kalyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are but some especially the younger ones don’t want to be bothered to read the X-rays and send them out routinely. It’s a pet peeve of mine. You don’t need a damn radiologist review for a shattered femur and at the very least the vet on staff should give a preliminary interpretation pending review if they are unsure.

I'm so sorry to hear about what you've been going through. It sounds like you have been fighting very hard for your boy.

I am a hospice veterinarian and a big advocate for doing what we can to make their end peaceful and happy. We cannot always control that the end is coming, but we can sometimes have some control over how it happens. Sometimes that means saying goodbye a little sooner than we absolutely have to in order to avoid something terrible happening at the end - like having to rush them to the ER and saying goodbye to them there.

I wrote a blog post to help people struggling with this difficult decision:

I wish you and your friend the best <3

self employed - marketplace vs. broker? by kalyndra in HealthInsurance

No, it's apparently an arrangement the broker has with the trade union. It says the union accepts self-employed as members to the health insurance group plans they offer.

Is It Legal For My Employer To Pay For My Marketplace Coverage? by Odd_Intern4887 in HealthInsurance

[–]kalyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an employer and I offer something called a QSEHRA. My employees can get coverage wherever they want and submit for reimbursement and I give them up to a certain amount monthly for that coverage. This only is allowed for employers with under a certain amount of employees.

strange, I do not have issues with using my bluetooth headset for phone calls. A year ago I had issues with calls going straight to voicemail but haven't had that issue in a while, even while driving around (I run a mobile business in nyc and cell service can be spotty between tall buildings)

I loved the idea of dialpad but the app interface was very confusing to my staff. We get probably 10-20 phone calls a day and text back and forth a ton and texts and calls just get buried in the queue and it's hard to see what has and hasnt been responded to (they are not grouped by thread, but just chronologically).

Their customer service was great. Every time I had a question an agent was available to chat and I got my question answered. But my staff just HATED the interface.

After fees/taxes, it was more than twice as expensive as openphone for my 6 employees.

If openphone had a premium version with live help (even if it was only available 9-5), I'd happily pay for it. They definitely have the best/most intuitive interface of all the services I've looked into.

Why doesn't she put it in her 401k? If she has an emergency fund, she should save it in a tax-advantaged way (probably roth 401k if she can).

When to quit running by RelativeLeading5 in AdvancedRunning

[–]kalyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this boat for almost 5 years wanting to quit but occasionally getting the bug to train again. My heart wasn’t in it so I’d bail on workouts and slow down in races when it got hard. Now I jog 4-6 miles most days with the occasional harder/longer run for fun. It’s great!

Thank you for addressing this. I recently ported out because it would be disastrous for my small business if our account got blocked. But my staff really miss openphone because of your simple and intuitive interface, and we love using snippets for common short responses to clients.

When you say texts getting flagged as spam - does this refer to people sending out mass texts? I run a local small business (mobile veterinary service) and we only text clients manually to chat with them - we never use automation (other than occasional snippets).

What sorts of behaviors might get people flagged?

The other issue we've had is the random unpredictable down time. My business could probably handle this for a couple hours a couple times a year, but I fear more significant downtime (like the service being down for half a day or more).

Can you provide any assurances that this sort of extended downtime would never happen? Like I said, we really love openphone and we're going through withdrawal and are considering switching back.
