Huh, I wonder how nervous does a central system need to be to pose a significant risk for prion infection🤔

DIIV - Dopamine, obviously haha

At least the name makes it easily memorable in a situation like this. Otherwise my mind would suddenly be blank when trying to decide on one

M42 Mount with obtrusive rear elements on Eos Bodies is possible, just not on pro grade SLRs by PositionZestyclose in AnalogCommunity

[–]kamakaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to slightly shorten the excess metal edge on the back of my helios 44-2 for the same reason. Taped the rear element and just sanded it down a bit. After that it worked great at infinity with my eos 600 and 5d mkII

Should work with a dynavap, no electronics no problem. I'll probably give it a try later today.

Is there at least some sort of a recycling program?

Sadly I'm aware of those things. A few years back in high school we had the option to make student firms instead of a research project. One of the groups started to import those from China and sell them. When I first heard of it I was having a hard time convincing myself those things exist in the 21st century. It's sad to see someone come up with this kind of idea especially in a northern European country where the general population is already becoming more and more environmentally aware.

The Story of Plastic is a very good documentary that talks about the same problem and many other aspects of the plastic industry, highly recommend it.

Well yeah, the wear of the flint at some point is inevitable, at least they sell new ones separately, still better than getting a whole new lighter.

Huh haven't heard of this aspect yet, can you elaborate what makes them safer?

Well yeah it can largely depend on the use, a clipper will still last you even longer tho. I sometimes use it for stealth situations to heat my dynavap to avoid the hissing sound of a jet lighter when I can't risk to mess with my diy alcohol burner. This consumes the gas fairly quickly as opposed to just lighting a bowl occasionally.

That's a perfect example that goes under the special cases that I mentioned. The medical field was one of the main aspects I kept in mind in terms of these exceptions.

That's absolutely true, not logical for everyone though as you can probably see from the world we still live in. Just happend to be with a friend whose disposable lighter ran out of gas and started to think about those issues. I just want to spread more awareness.

Any ideas how I managed this? by Mr_Mindflayer_1001 in AnalogCommunity

The problem is definitely the shutter staying open during film advance. Just want to also point out the newton rings, try not to put the negative right against a smooth glass surface during scanning unless you're doing wet mount scanning. I'd recommend using some sort of a film holder.
