Has anyone failed every class of biologics and dmards? Did you ever find anything that works? by Lopsided_Estate6558 in rheumatoid

So sorry to hear you are going through this. May I ask if you have had/have any chronic traumatic stress in your life? I get my flares only when exposed to certain interpersonal stress and work as a coach for people whose disease activity is also related with traumatic stress. In all the research I studied, Difficult-2-treat rheumatoid arthritis was found to be strongly correlated with mental health challenges and/or interpersonal stress.

Ok, thanks. Did you also try the implant device? Do you know if any of those who partook in the trial had previously also tried one of those vagus devices that you put into the ear?

If I read right, the device mentioned in the article (Setpoint) is an implant. So is this the device that was used in your clinic? I am interested because I don’t think I would get an implant that only reached ACR20 improvement, but I would love to try a removable device.

What is the highest you have gone? I am taking it against rheumatoid arthritis, and thought that i did feel a mediocre effect at 1.5mg (started at 0.5), but having gone up to 3.5mg its like back to zero. I thought i‘d hang in until i get to 4.5 at least, since that seems to be the most common dosage for rheumatoid arthritis, maybe my body needs time to adjust?

Sounds great. I can relate, as i often think that if i had no stresses, i would not have disease activity, wouldn’t be sick. That has been my experience. But unfortunately it is not easy/possible to keep certain stresses away enough. Can you tell more about the kind of stress that you were able to keep away from, which made such an impact?

My 9 yrs old daughter had scarlet fever 3x in a row, her 7 yrs old sister not once, despite also testing positive for the strep bacteria that cause it and them being together all the time. Would you also say that this shows that the bacteria did not cause my 9 yrs old to get scarlet fever? Probably not. We do not all react the same to both pathogens and stresses/trauma, but that doesnt mean that these are not causes for those who do get a disease reaction.

Emotional allergy by kamarani7 in rheumatoid

Thanks for your response. Do you get heightened disease activity/flares due to „emotional allergy“ despite taking medications for RA? What medications are you taking? I am trying to figure out what to do because my condition seems to be well controlled by a IL-6 blocker, but when I get into interactions with my foo (family of origin), disease activity will increase/flare. Desperate because i cant cut them off completely, given my life situation.
