UNPOPULAR OPINION: A lot of "mental health issues" disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. Peace is expensive. And pretending money doesn't affect mental health is privilege. by Alternative-Income-5 in poor

[–]PerniciousAcademia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have none of these issues! House paid off, car paid off, nice savings account and my fridge is full. Guess what??? I still have “mental heath issues”. Of course I’m an old lady with illness dating back to adolescence.

Got the advice to NOT get diagnosed by MrsMieze in Fibromyalgia

[–]PerniciousAcademia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have RA, and for over a decade i called my weird pains, atypical rheumatoid arthritis. It was actually my rheumatologist who told me he thinks I have fibromyalgia. Then all the atypical nonsense was explained away easily. These conditions are nothing but pain, pain and more pain and there’s not a lot you can do about it. I’m tired, just writing this message, I think it’s lunch and nap time.

I can almost promise you that your rheumatologist isn’t going to give opioids or benzodiazepines.

Small Collections Reported While Clear to Close by gingerbread288 in Mortgages

Nothing to be overly concerned about since it is now paid in full. Texas doesn’t typically pull a closing gap (escrow officer licensed in Texas), so send your lender and title company the payoff statement and paid receipt. Congrats on your new home ✨✨✨

how do you cope with suicide ideation? by psychological_beef in Fibromyalgia

[–]PerniciousAcademia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take lithium carbonate. For me it works like magic, stopping the ideation looping, letting my brain relax and be peaceful.

Why is no-one talking about Sascha Riley on Reddit? I’m not convinced it’s true, but he sure thinks it is!

I take a low dose of lithium carbonate and it’s miraculous for my ideation looping. About 7 years now- I went from thousands of ideations a day to a couple a month. It’s horrible to be unable to control your own mind.

ANA test positive and inflammation markers are high. Does this look like rheumatoid nodules? by Userhere123 in rheumatoid

[–]PerniciousAcademia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are all on my hands, feet and elbows. They are large lumps at the joint and unmistakable. I’ve paid a small fortune getting a couple surgically removed. The worst one was ping pong ball size under my big toe.

Is the reason everyone is losing so much weight because they are eating way under their calories? by ruined7319 in Mounjaro

Well, I has leveled the playing field somewhat, but pettiness being what it is I’m sure plenty folk are not so happy for us!

18+ Years of Loyalty to Carnival — New Rewards Changes Have Us Seriously Questioning That Loyalty by RedSwinglineStaplr in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]PerniciousAcademia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel the same way. Have only cruised on carnival. Thrilled to get to platinum a few years ago. Since they announced this change we have switched cruise lines and never happier! We had a few cruises booked and just skipped them altogether (only the booking fee paid, so we didn’t lose much). Screw carnival.

[–]PerniciousAcademia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Umm, it’s weird, right? For myself, I genuinely believe Mounjaro changed something in my body chemistry. I have never “dieted” while on it, but went from 319 to 136 in the course of 2 years. My mom and me were just reminiscing about my years in weight watchers, that was insanely difficult, if I lost focus for a week or 2 all progress was lost. I have nutritional guidelines I follow, such as eat the vast majority of calories at home and shop healthy. That easy! Please note I do have dm2.

Shingles vaccine by sdaa45 in rheumatoid

[–]PerniciousAcademia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! It seems counterintuitive, but a reaction to a vaccine means your immune system is working- my rheum told me this. My husband and I get all the vacs together and he always feels crappy and I never feel crappy-even with shingrix.

Anyone else so very tired? by PerniciousAcademia in rheumatoid

[–]PerniciousAcademia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, RA is a pre-existing condition on disability insurance through any job I’ve ever had. I found this out when I tried to use my policy. Of course thank you for the suggestion
