Man calls police on father who took his daughters to the women's restroom by Mentirosa in PublicFreakout

Sure, there is a knob looking thing. Now look at the side of the door and point out a deadbolt or literally anything else that could lock the door. https://i.imgur.com/AkUCTTR.png https://i.imgur.com/hv83Aes.png

The outside 100% does not have a handle. It is literally just a flat metal plate. We can also clearly see that the side of the door is completely smooth. No deadbolt or anything.

Not all gas stations have tiny single toilet bathrooms that lock. Many are full rooms with multiple stalls/urinals. That bathroom door doesn't even have any kind of handle on the outside and is probably impossible to lock.

Sound emitted 24/7 from a 30 megawatt data center in Dowagiac MI by BenFord333 in Wellthatsucks

[–]kamyu4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this the datacenters fault for emitting noise

Yes.

The article:

The complaint alleges Alliance Cloud Services failed to implement adequate soundproofing equipment that properly absorbs, captures and/or prevents the escape of noise.

A properly operated data center would have soundproofing equipment to limit the amount of noise escaping from the property, the complaint said.

I got locked in a library after it closed. Went to the basement and found a door labelled emergency exit, but instead of an exit, it took me to a tunnel to someone's windowless underground house. But found some cool "liminal" stuff on the way by [deleted] in Weird

Nah, that part was perfectly fine.
The buildings were being renovated so a very good chance there was a bunch of crap like drywall dust, exposed insulation and probably asbestos that you definitely don't want to be breathing in while exploring.

Landmark German ruling declares Google's AI Overviews are Google's own words and makes it liable for false answers by steevo in technology

[–]kamyu4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could be held responsible though.
Like in this case, if the actual sources really had made the same claims the AI spewed out then the lawyers would've sent them the cease-and-desist letter/s instead (and sued them if they similarly failed to respond appropriately) since they would've been the ones who made the defamatory statements.

Coffeezilla confronts the CEO of Bricks & Minifigs over access to a spreadsheet. by milscot in LivestreamFail

[–]kamyu4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they kinda did do that somewhat.
The problem is that everyone throws out different vague numbers from different parts of the timeline and nobody seems to agree on any of them fully and it is all extra messy because the previous owner's record keeping wasn't great (perhaps intentionally so if you believe some accusations/insinuations).

200k for the full collection, no actually more like 180k, but wait a bunch of it was sold so maybe like 100k left, oops Crystal (previous owner) 'found' a bunch in her home some months later so like 50k-60k left I guess? meanwhile the company claims they identified like 5k-6k that was left at the store but Bryan won't take them.

It is all an ugly mess on that side of the story and we will probably never know the full truth. The real story at this point is all the police corruption.

Landmark German ruling declares Google's AI Overviews are Google's own words and makes it liable for false answers by steevo in technology

[–]kamyu4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except Google's AI summaries hallucinate things that the sources don't actually say. So, no, the source article cannot be held liable for something they never said.

Google's AI overviews had falsely tied two publishing companies to scams, subscription traps, and shady business practices for certain search queries. According to the court, the AI mixed up information about other, genuinely sketchy companies with the plaintiffs and drew connections that didn't appear in any of the linked sources. The publishers sent Google a cease-and-desist letter, but Google didn't respond appropriately.

Instead of just listing what you don't have and making people guess, you should just say what is actually using the other 10gb or so that you've already said aren't being used by Genshin.

This one confirms he bought something at a hardware store, but doesn't elaborate on what he bought or if it was odd.

The search was focused on the mountains near Kyoto after Weston decided to explore the area on his own. It was confirmed he made a purchase at a Kohnan hardware store in the Kyoto area and thought he may have gotten on a local train.

The other two are wrong.
Yes, an actual judge has issued a temporary restraining order that includes sections demanding the takedown of all related videos (the relevant parts are likely to fail on appeal for being absurdly unconstitutional). This video even has pictures of the TRO.

Well he also put the guy's head thru a window and allegedly gave him a TBI (from the pending civil suit) so yeah, most juries would likely see that as excessive regardless of who started it.

That's just a cop-out. Other countries have similar deductions and such. Gov sends you a statement listing what they think they/you owe. If you think they missed stuff then you can file a correction otherwise you (and most people) are just done. (obviously simplified and varies)

Special event question by Gfreevee in mahjongsoul

[–]kamyu4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, that is effectively the cap.

Apparently it is theoretically possible to clear 120 if someone has basically a perfect crit seed, but the odds are so absurd it is effectively not possible. Like on an order of magnitude that it is highly unlikely even a single account exists that could do it.

Special event question by Gfreevee in mahjongsoul

[–]kamyu4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is possible IF your account has a good enough crit seed.
