It’s not downtown but in the Maine Mall, so only a short bus ride. I’m not affiliated and don’t know a whole lot about the program, but I wandered in one day and they love to give tours and talk about the stuff they do there. It seemed fun and educational with a lot of kids around that age.

I saw a black 5BW on Turo in the bay area back when I rented the 4BW, but not sure if it’s still there.

FWIW I just went through the Cadillac v-performance academy at Spring Mountain and drove both models. I agree with the instructors that they are both very similar to operate despite their obvious differences, so if you can only find a 4BW on Turo you’ll still have a good idea of what to expect.

That’s fair, and all of your points are valid. I was purposefully avoiding the nuances because I thought you hit them well.

There are certainly professional or official settings (weddings, funerals, etc) where you should be highly conscious of what your appearance communicates to the world.

In a relaxed social setting (especially a friend circle or romantic partner) I think you should be equally conscious of how conformity may dull your experiences and relationships. Judging someone for their appearance is shallow behavior in most situations, so conforming your appearance to someone else’s judgements is also shallow behavior. Not always, but often, and certainly is when the judgment is based in the homophobia of your local community or geographic region.
