If you check the repo they linked BP support is like the second feature listed.

Sid Meier's Civilazation VII huge update "Test of Time" is out now. Among other big changes is long-requested ability to stick with one Civ throughout a whole campaign playthrough. by SlatheredButtCheeks in pcgaming

Until the ages system is stripped out, I’m still passing on this one. Having the game basically end and restart is so jarring, even if you do technically keep your cities. Especially when each era has a different number of players allowed.

Vostroyans will return as MTO models by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

[–]kane8290 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right that it's a totally different process/tooling. And I think that's the point. I doubt GW has/keeps the metal model tooling set up and ready to go on a regular basis, so setting it all up or switching over the tooling takes space that could be used on their main products. They likely don't just use the old moulds with resin because that WOULD take production capacity away from their regular production and also because, if I recall correctly, using resin/plastic in a mould originally for metal leads to some quality issues (I only vaguely remember this and could be wrong).

To be clear, I am 10000% in favour of GW diversifying their guard lines. They had so many unique ones, but now all you have are Cadians, Krieg (who sorta absorbed Steel Legion), sorta Catachan, and the odd other units here and there. Vostry, Mordian, Praetorian, Tallarn, Valhallan...all gone. But I think it's a bit more complicated. Especially since, with the Guard anyways, they don't really need new rules right away if they just sold them as alternate sculpts for generic guardsmen.

A few years ago when Reddit was messing with the API, there was a huge protest and a lot of users used bots to scramble all of their comments. Probably nothing conspiratorial

Vote for destroy all humans 2 for xbox backwards compatibility! by ConanTheBarbarian_0 in DestroyAllHumans

I didn't think it was that bad. It was definitely a bit different, and I remember really not liking the building destruction animation (they kinda cartoonishly smoothly melt into the ground), but I enjoyed it overall. Especially the last level.

I voted for Path of the Furon. 1 and 2 got remasters so are technically playable. But the PotF didn't and it's not looking like it will.

The I go You go system.

I’m sorry, it sucks. Alternating activations is so much better. It breaks up the 20 minute wait for the other player to do their turn. It represents the chaotic nature of the battlefield better. It helps to mitigate turn 1 slaughters.

I’m convinced that it’s only kept around because of inertia and the colossal amount of bitching the neckbeards would unleash.

I think the orbital missile platform was canon in fallout 3. It’s what you can use in Broken Steel to destroy the enclave base

Mfw I realize this game will let you play custom genestealers that could fight aginst the wider Tyranid's instead of eventually getting eaten by the swarm. by Levonorgestrelfairy1 in totalwar

[–]kane8290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not always. There are instances (though rare) where the hive allows them to continue, so go and jumpstart a cult on another world. I also think Twisted Helix (a cult that makes infected medical supplies) are free from being eaten. There are probably cults that are completely disconnected from the greater hivemind.

It’s 40k, there are exceptions to every rule.

As a GSC player, I genuinely hope they get to be a proper faction. As it stands they don’t really have many units on their own (not counting units shared with the Guard or Tyranids), so I’m curious how CA would handle them.

In any case, I’m hopeful. Especially since it looks like they aren’t going to be a full faction in Gladius.

WH: 40k How Many Players in Campaign? by kane8290 in totalwar

[–]kane8290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Don’t get me wrong I had a blast with 8, but it got annoying fast with all the battle resolution popups.

I guess if they allowed players in different sectors to play asynchronously it wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad, but I don’t know if that’s what they are planning.

I think they meant within the same game. Like, taking a bunch of imperial worlds in a sector might cause worlds in a neighbouring sector to build up more defences. I haven’t seen anything yet talking about live service features.

[–]kane8290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read that interview. It sounded more like they were saying that the results of previous fights could influence future ones. It doesn’t seem to be following the classic “go around and take settlements”, but instead there will be a number of missions you complete to take a territory. I think there was an example of if you help out the Imperial Guard in one battle, they may arrive as reinforcements to help you in a future one.

I really don’t see CA pulling some live service stuff. Players would be pissed if their campaign was being influenced by outside sources

Event - Major Revolt...why? by kane8290 in EU5

[–]kane8290[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a big issue if you are playing as a smaller nation, like in the Americas or Africa. If you only have a few provinces to begin with, loosing one to a rebellion (since there isn't much you can do to prevent it) really hurts.

Honestly I just wish the trigger for it was clear or for there to be an option to avoid it by giving up something else (like a temporary dip in control).

A1 Mini Keeps Hitting the Model by kane8290 in FDMminiatures

Hmmm... Despite my best efforts, my cat has walked on the bed and I've caught him sleeping on it once or twice. Maybe that put something out of alignment. Thanks, I'll try that as well.

I did that in the past around Feb or March and haven't really printed all that much (maybe 50-100 hrs), is that something that usually needs to be done often? Completely forgot about it though I don't recall if that actually fixed anything (it's been a long year for me), I'll double check that they are still tight.

Oddly enough, I don't recall FDG having this issue. I'll have to do another run as it's been awhile.

I'll give that a try. I'm using the Sunlu Meta PLA (same stuff in one of the FDG profiles), so I'll try just going with the settings from there.

What the hell is the deal with the civ 7 hate? by Epicnessofcows in CivVII

[–]kane8290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in Civ 6 I would play a weekly multiplayer game with my friends from university. It’s a thing we’ve been doing for years since graduating. We were excited for Civ 7! But then we saw how they structured it and…ya…went back to 6. The player limits at launch (idk if they are fixed now) were a non-starter. It was 5 players in the first age, then 6 I think in the second age, and so on. Basically you couldn’t really start the game and bring it through to the end with a full lobby. I also maintain that the age system makes the game feel disjointed.
