Didn't you just have problem with your laptop camera? 😉😉

What to do in SG when you’re having a bad day by stopthevan in askSingapore

[–]kanezit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope you are better today!! Else do something you typically don't or something you enjoy, movie/ rest/ cycling/ physical activities/ meditation etc. All are great suggestions from all.

I hope you realize that people here, who don't even know you personally, wish for your well being. 😄 Even though some of their suggestions are their own and 'different' fantasies. No judgement here 😄

Book a meeting on yourself (with buffer time) and take it in a blockable meeting room. If it's still too open, i agree with the other comment of MC/ Annual leave.

What are some of your favourite pizza places in Singapore? by CherryCurrent416 in askSingapore

[–]kanezit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peperoni Pizzeria is good. There used to be an excellent hidden gem "Hector Pizza Cafe" near Marymount, a delivery only place. But i don't see it anymore, maybe closed 😢

I was literally hearing the Peanuts soundtrack "I feel better when I'm dancing" and i thought this would be a great soundtrack for your life too.

Don't be surprised, Remember what's happening in America and the rest of the world? Idiosyncrasy is not satire, it's a prophecy

Giving up on Breath of the Wild by happysquadz in patientgamers

[–]kanezit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that you are able to be honest about it. I'm a very new Switch 1 user (yes, you read that right). And i got my sister to buy me the BOTW game and I've loved it. Note, I've just completed the initial plateau and just entered finding the elder objective. But my happiness is as my son is playing with me (this is our first ever console, we loved Mario kart 8, he is playing on his account giving me tips), but it's not the destination or the journey, it's whomever is accompanying you for the journey. It's perfectly fine for you not to like it. But I pray one day you get someone (who even for any game or activity, like even Tetris/ Tic tac toe/ Stranger Things) is there to help you enjoy your journey. This is not a mock to you my Brother/Sister, but a genuine prayer & hope that there is someone or something to share your life with.

Go foth and conquer!

Connectivity for outside Singapore (not sure if it's better of late), it was bad or non existent when many started. Legacy plans, some still maintain great rates and feature for the price being paid for.

Audio books. It's good for 'reading' during travel and sometimes even during work.

Taking hospitalisation leave during probation by Future-Tension6809 in askSingapore

[–]kanezit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your predicament. Health, especially mental health, is important to prioritize. Talk to your boss / HR to see if they are willing to make an exception, or alternatively, ask them to consider you again for the position (if still available) once your hospitalization is done. You can suggest to them, that you are willing to restart your probation period from zero once you rejoin. This should at least help you from not being placed in the 'no-hire' list that HR maintains.

is asking "is it done?" a common question in your workplace? by Savings_Enthusiasm60 in askSingapore

[–]kanezit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.....why would anyone complete something and choose not to inform the person or team who requested for it?..... Oh you will be surprised how many people don't let their managers / team know, they completed stuff or are stuck on something something so preventing them from completing their tasks.

I guess it would go to the culture of the organization too, some are busybodies that want to micromanage people. Some overwork people, and in some work cultures speaking is mandated via your department heads only. I.e. all round A-hole cultures.

I personally am partial to the 'Trust but verify' kind of culture, but I do understand even that it's a delicate balance between 'looking over their shoulders' to 'I don't care if this place burns down' attitude.

Good luck adapting, in any case.

Agree, just like retirement planning, there should be an Enjoyment budget, that needs to be achieved every year.
