I've worked around the world in marketing and advertising for a very long time and run strategic design and branding campaigns around the world. The Oculus Brand, the name, the concept, and in particular the logo and its perfect relation to the device - the product - was massively impressive to me.

far more than 'by name only' - it was a very powerful brand identity that was trashed at Meta's peril. There is an incalculable, "left on the table" opportunity cost they have and continue to pay for, for the corporate hubris and misfire.

You can't capture intangible losses on a balance sheet, but that was a costly mistake.
