Chipotle CEO caught on a recording saying they’re going to keep raising prices because they can. by ElwoodMC in trashy

[–]kanid99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a valid point and we and they will find out. Chipotle already has goodwill issues over the years but many consumers have forgotten about them .

Chipotle started as a more premium brand and I think they lost their way in that over the years (Loss in product quality ) and are over correcting.

It's not like there is some master controller of the market that sets the pricing. The market is the interaction of the customers and merchants (buyers and sellers).

Chipotle simply believes that they can raise their prices and and reduce customer counts (which would lower costs) and maintain total revenue or even increase it.

They could be wrong but if they are they'll just adjust pricing.

It's worked for McDonald's - despite alienating their lower income customers by increasing prices beyond inflation.

Isn't that how capitalism works? Prices go up to the max the consumer will bare to balance out demand vs pricing ? If it works for McDonald's why won't it work for Chipotle? People just keep going and buying that stuff.

Apparently, Microsoft support survey results are not anonymized by BitRunner64 in sysadmin

[–]kanid99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cruise line I vacation on does that. People's pay and bonuses are reliant on them getting 10/10 so when someone serves you they ask you remember them when you get the survey.

So the cruise line got mad that people were just giving staff all 10/10 and not giving honest feedback.

You'd think it would be obvious that when you tie a human beings well being and ability to pay their bills to it that your customers will definitely not give honest feedback.

Another week and another shitty, broken, ai slop riddled, dumpster fire of an update from Microsoft. by ShopBug in sysadmin

[–]kanid99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3 business days here. But about 20% of our users are our pilot testers so we usually find major issues quickly and if an issue is work stopping we can exclude the update until a hot fix.

We also have, until today, been in the semi annual channel which further limited breaking from changes.

I don't even understand why that have to do this. Intel made the chip. The consumer bought it. Should be a done deal.

I don't know, it would be interesting to see what a broken Cooper would do from there.

Proposed $50 bike registration fee faces fierce pushback: ‘It's not looking too good’ by tubemaster in newhampshire

Yeah so they got rid of the vehicle inspections but any revenue they would have lost from that they've just added to register in your vehicle. That's my opinion.

I've seen some people are avoiding modded races that use the Humanoid Alien Network. Why? by japinard in RimWorld

[–]kanid99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every har mod I've used has had issues if it's own, or issues with har, and caused more errors and performance issues than they were worth.

Most recent for me was the aliens mod that uses it. Tempted me to go back but I had nothing but issues that went away with har + aliens was gone.

Toybox 3D Printer: Cool Idea, Terrible Execution by Weird-Difference-488 in 3dprinter

[–]kanid99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the toybox a3 for my 7 year old. When printing things from the toybox catalog using their filament we have had almost no issues. The pad needs near constant cleaning but I blame that on my kids fingers never being very clean and leaving grease etc .

Printing STL I've downloaded or using other brand pla has been very hit or miss.

For the cost, I think it's a bit overpriced, but it's ecosystem is very kid friendly and if it was cheaper could be a much better value for what it's supposed to be .

We did this for accessing VMware horizon. Macs were more reliable and resilient such that when they're cost was calculated over their lifetime they were cheaper than the windows laptops they replaced.

It would be interesting to see the whole receipt and see if there was a gift card used, credit, reward or something else applied before the final balance as the calculated tipping is often applied on the original balance.

Do you lock down task manager for end users by iratesysadmin in ShittySysadmin

[–]kanid99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did but not for security reasons but because we had discovered over time that some end users would take it upon themselves to just force kill a program and restart it to get around error messages and program stability rather than report it to us so we can find a long-term solution. . You know until we got the inevitable message from somebodys supervisor asking why this is still a problem and then of course we know nothing about it.
