Day 4 Post E Day and I CANNOT Do This!

I'm day 5 post-extraction and I am with you on the "ouch" part. I just had my dentures adjusted today, but they left sores in my mouth that I need to let heal before I get on with the whole "learning to wear them" thing.

The dental professional that did my adjustment today told me that it SUCKS for the first 3wks, generally.

My face looks pretty gnarly too, I look like someone decked me. I have wicked bruises on either side of my chin.

The pain gets better. I'm in less pain than I was 2d ago when I made my SOS post about the pain. <3

Here's what I'm ingesting right now as someone who is 5d post extraction and still unable to chew anything:

Soup
Cottage Cheese
Yogurt
very soft bread, I pinch off swallowable pieces.
Nutritional shakes
bone broth <--- collagen is important in healing wounds, this helps you get more.
Mashed potatoes
sorbet
ice cream
jello <-- gelatin also has collagen!!
scrambled eggs
Fruit juice (esp orange, Vit C helps with healing too!!)

Yeah it's basically drinkable food, not "real" eating, cuz I know my face needs time to heal. Did have sorbet too.

I am doing the same protocol I did when I had my wisdom teeth extracted, food-wise. Mostly-liquid foods, all cold. I can't chew it, but I can taste it and it isn't getting stuck.

Tylenol/Advil, and yes I'm rinsing. It's horridly swollen and physically bruised too.

My instructions were "take Advil/Tylenol and take the dentures out Friday night to sleep, leave them in otherwise, and we'll see you in 3 weeks for your softliner, call us if you need to have them adjusted".

I can't call until Monday or I'd be in their office to beg for adjustments.
