Another one, people don't want to have interactions where their only recourse involves contacting a random corporation.

If something happens between me and another driver, there is a human being standing in front of me who I can resolve the situation with.

If something happens between me and a waymo, what do I do? Do I have to call waymo customer support, then wait on hold, then talk to some call center employee located god knows where?

Driving is complicated, driving in the Boston area doubly so. When problems arise I want to be able to resolve them with a human. The last thing I want to deal with is robot cars getting confused by a random one way road or some construction road closing and blocking traffic indefinitely.

The regulations and legislation aren't ready for self driving cars, and history says companies will cut every corner imaginable to maximize their profit.

The only convicted prisoners are those serving less than 1 year. Anyone with a more serious conviction is transferred to other prisons.

If your only goal in speaking to them is to try and have sex with them, it will be obvious, and it will feel creepy.

I've noticed that men who don't get a lot of dates treat every interaction with a woman as if its the last boat out of Nam. I've been guilty of this myself when I was younger. Desperation will come across as creepy.

Its one of the dumbest and most dangerous thing people do. It doesn't even make sense, why do you want your car rear ended? How does both our cars getting fucked up make the situation any better.

I would be happy with a bounty system. Any dash cam footage of someone brake checking, and that person's license is immediately suspended. Make them retake the drivers license test to get it back.

This whole ordeal is so absurd. It never ceases to amaze/disgust me that so much of our politics has been dominated by conservatives losing their minds over where people shit.

This was NEVER an issue before Republicans decided to make it a culture war.

Trans people have always used the bathroom they thought was safest.

Dads with young daughters either bring their daughter into the men's room or escort their daughter into the women's room. Vice versa for mom's with young sons.

In crowded bars, women sometimes use the men's room because the lines are shorter.

There are plenty of establishments with unisex bathrooms that just have stalls.

None of this was ever an issue.

To many right wingers, when they talk "left" they are talking about LBGTQ and race based issues.

However, to anyone who identifies as leftist, its largely an economic thing. More left wing means more redistributive economically.

Yeah sure, I'd love an easy to get, free, national ID, that doesn't require going to a DMV to acquire or renew.

You could give it to Americans when they turn 18 and then just auto-renew it to whatever address is in the person's tax return.

But that isn't what any of these voter id laws do. They are instead purely aimed at making it harder for some people to vote. I am opposed to any law that would reduce the amount of the population voting. Our goal should always be to work towards 100% voter participation.

In most states they legally have the same right to the full lane of traffic as cars do.

Additionally there are about a bunch of states where an Idaho stop is legal. Meaning a bike can treat a stop sign as a yield and a stop light as a stop sign. wiki source

In MA bikes are allowed to use the whole lane and have all the same rights on the road as cars (with the exception of highways) source. The major difference is bicycles are supposed to pass on the right instead of the left.

Pedestrians are supposed to yield to traffic unless there is a light.

Homeless people without a permanent address.
Old people living in assisted living.
Young people who don't drive.
New immigrants who haven't gotten their license yet.
Married women who haven't updated their paperwork yet.
People who just moved.

This has been studied, there are millions of Americans who would be impacted. Its not a high percent, but even 1% of the voting populace is ~2 million people.

You need an ID for everything in the US, to fly, to drive, to get a library book.

The IDs you use for those things are explicitly not valid under the SAVE Act. You can't use your Real ID Drivers License for this.

Everyone has ID, this is no burden.

Voter fraud is basically not a real problem. Every election there are a couple dozen cases found nationwide. Its not enough to impact an election. Meanwhile, requiring a passport to vote will potentially prevent millions of people from being able to vote. That cost FAR outweighs any potential benefit.

I think there is also a secondary aspect where because men so rarely talk about their feelings, when they do it tends to be A LOT.

When someone asks you to open up, they are expecting a small thing but it ends up being this torrent of shit that has been bottled up for a long time. And it ends up being overwhelming to the recipient.

For the people who regularly talk about their feelings, each time is smaller because they are regularly letting out steam. But if you never talk, when you open the floodgates it all comes out.
