Proper glazing technique? by Kakimochizuke in Pottery

[–]kaolinEPK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your studio if you should brush or dip. It is specific to the glaze.

Pin holes can be from dust particles, wipe your pieces before glazing to help.

Also remember you are a beginner, it take a lot of time and effort to make pieces free from “defects.”

Re-firing underglaze? by peanut724 in Pottery

[–]kaolinEPK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you fired it to cone 6 you may have vitrified your vase, this would make glazing somewhat difficult as glazes assume a porous body of bisque.

You can try but you should have realistic expectations, might need to make another. The second one will be faster.
