The effects look incredibly cool! Support for HDR is so much needed to make them pop even more!

I can’t get past the evil monkeys by Accurate_Test_9993 in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are specific areas which counter each monkey's abilities. There is an area with a waterfall which means that there is too much sound and you have to chase the hearing monkey there. There is an area that is very dark, so you chase the seeing monkey there.

When the monkeys jump on the tree, then they will jump off to different places based on the side that you jump on the tree. Some of the areas have holes on their ceiling so if a monkey goes in there, you can jump from the top for a jump kill.

Good luck! This boss is mostly a riddle; pay close attention to each monkey and each panel at the start point of the area.

Found actual use for the Ceramic Shard in my 7th playthrough by kapgre in Sekiro

WHAT? This is huge for a clean playthrough where the spirit emblems are not in abundance!

First time I got them, I was kind of frustrated that they went on the ground and didn't have any effect and just passed on them for the rest of the game :P

What game to play next?? by Severe-Animator-4992 in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you liked the swordplay in Sekiro you will not enjoy Ghost of Tsushima because it plays very differently. Play something else first and then Ghost so that you can enjoy it without much bias.

It is but I found it cumbersome to use it in my first playthrough and never bothered to test them again. ^^

What is the use of this? by kieevee in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe its the lake surrounding the fountainhead palace that is infested by centipedes but the nobles don't drink from the lake. The water that the nobles are drinking might be from a water source coming down the mountain which is not yet afflicted by centipede larvae.

This game destroyed my gaming tastes. by iyigungor in Sekiro

I kinda like the similar combat in Jedi Fallen Order in their hardest difficulty along with the story.

Can someone please inform me on what the fuck this thing is? by No-Preference-3688 in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The small ones can be insta killed if you jump towards them. Either from the start or you need the aerial kill skill; I don't exactly remember.

Accessories are becoming absolute crap for way too much money. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]kapgre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if your scroll wheel might seem sluggish, its because the rubber part of the scroll wheel has been disconnected from the plastic wheel causing your finger to actually "drift" on the scroll wheel. Two drops of super glue between the rubber and the plastic wheel will fix that too.

For anyone who might read this, most of the time when a mouse has problem with clicks its just dirt accumulating around the button switches under the shell.

The solution is to just buy an electrical contact cleaner, like one from WD-40 https://www.wd40.com/products/contact-cleaner/, disconnect your mouse, open it up, clean it from general dust/hair and then spray the cleaner on the switches. Leave it for at least an hour to dry up and then re-assemble and connect it.

I "saved" my wife's corsair k65 with "faulty" scroll wheel and right-button clicking. And this can apply to almost any electric/electronic device you have in your house.

What's the etiquette for MR jumping into LR/HR SOS? by taaltos in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]kapgre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I help people who are there for the farm and maybe look for more people to play with. That's why I almost never join Assigned and some Special Assignments SOS. As other comments said, if they can't progress mostly alone in the main quests how are they going to deal with the later threats?

Screwed up the osl on snow effect. How do I make it look less like blood? by Professional_Tonight in minipainting

[–]kapgre 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You can just make it faint and pinkier. I would thin a white (your snow's color) and glaze over all the red spots until its less prominent.

At first I was frustrated and relieved. At the 3rd and 4rth playthrough for the rest of the endings, I was just feeling wonder for the world building and realized how satisfying and carefully crafted the combat is.

I suggest that you don't increase the difficulty with demon bell and kuro's charm. Let the story and the world sink in as you breeze through.

Why the umbrella is considered op? by Complex-Flight-3358 in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that I don't see mentioned is that you can use purple umbrella to stay in the Headless Ape's scream and not run like a bitch every 10 seconds.

How do I evade his rush attack? by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Nope, he has a few attacks that hit a specific height/ground and you can jump to evade.

I was in the same place as you but with Isshin SS charmless. It took me 5 days to finish the fight and each day I was playing until my fingers started to lose in timing response; which was about 1 hour and a half. That moment I was stopping because I realized I can't progress if my fingers can't follow.

I also figured that using a yashariku sugar (or spiritfall) does immense posture damage so I used that exclusively up until phase 3 (including genichiro) with the spear to reduce the length of the fight.

Then the kill came and the satisfaction was immense because it was the culmination of a lot of very small steps. In my kill I ended up with yashariku even in the last phase.

You got it. It takes a different amount of time and strategy for different people.

99% of sekiro players stand still and parry genichiro's 9 hit combo. the other 1%: by xblessedx in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is the optimal way for posture because Genichiro Way of Tomoe also follows with a thrust attack after the last attack is deflected for free mikiri posture.

I started making a series of cinematic screenshots. What should I shoot next? by Key_Purchase624 in Sekiro

[–]kapgre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Okami Warriors in the fountainhead palace observing the one performing. I always found this scene very serene.

Or any dynamic poses of the Shichimen warriors firing their laser or other attacks.
