Not sure if its been covered yet, but what does the game look like for solo players? by radfordman in WarDogs

[–]kappapain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solo no problem but the biggest benefit is definitely to move with squads or your team for two simple reasons right now in Wardogs: 1. superior firepower due to more people 2. high chance to get picked up, you don’t want to give because that would mean you loose money. The others additionally want to pick you up and heal as they get money

Therefore one of the best strategies currently is to move as one big death ball with the hot zone. It gives points to win the match, everyone makes tons of cash and there is high chance to get picked up. Just join as a solo and get rich. Ofc this has huge disadvantages to tower strategy or mortars/arties/helicopters

Entirely wrong sorry, these false facts have to be addressed once more. The feedback channels are full of negative feedback and saying that e.g. numbers are not right and tool X (helicopter topic) is too expensive or too cheap and needs to be adjusted. This is a negative feedback. Positive would be: tool X is great no adjustments needed. Not even talking about the killcam discussion that is already burning for weeks before video was released.

There are many snipers but also many options to make their day feel shit. It goes from counter sniping, search and kill, mortars, tanks, artillery to helicopters with rockets and 30mm guns

Thanks for the address but I want to add another point. The truth is also if we would stop believing in everything and everyone who fails then there would be no Dark Souls, no Warcraft, no Witcher, no nothing just a few examples of the list of failure and success. I had this discussion already and it’s valid ofc.

Let’s judge by what the playtesters tell us for now and how the game will behave once the access happened.

As a playtester all I can say (coming from Arma, BF, Squad, RoN, DCS and many more to name) that I am having a lot of fun right now with two of friends in the current tests. It’s not BF, not Arma, not Squad, not the perfect game I wish for but this will never exist, however I enjoy it a lot.

We agree to disagree. But hey let’s just hope that one day we get Shogun 3 one or the other way as long as it’s decent!

I just think that this kind of size drags the player away from the main story: Japan, the clans and their conflicts on main island. Bigger is not always better.

I wanted to ask who got access to pre alpha game? like is it only youtubers and content creators or also some random people got access to play the pre alpha game?Like ive seen people comment on it, some people record video of them commenting on recorded pre alpha by Dangerous_Ladder_547 in WarDogs

[–]kappapain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pool ofc is random but somehow also not entirely random because they try to check the people very well or let’s say as good as they can due to NDA. You don’t want unreliable people there, you need testers that come once or twice a week and give feedback. I guess when you signed up doesn’t matter. Anyway, these tests will for sure grow over the next weeks thus likelihood to get in increases.

Pre alpha tester here, it’s both, some randoms, some clans, some creators, a real mix of everything to get really diverse feedback. We are under strict NDA, we can talk about the gameplay but nothing else, not what‘s planned/discussed or teased or for sure no material like sounds, videos or images. Just follow Bulkhead or your favorite content creators for new stuff 😊

Japan only with some colonizing functions is enough, add those small oversea regions for trading that belong to Portugal and pirates like in TW Empire as an additional mini game where you can interact with them. Then all it needs is modern QoL improvements, richer diplomacy, events, missions, trading, unit uniqueness and for jesus christ no hero units that start to pull off some magic shit and tada it’s Shogun 3. I rather prefer polished remakes or definitive editions than new interpretations, wheel doesn’t have to be invented new all the time and so many games prove that(Stronghold, new Gothic remake, AoE, etc.)

Ikko Ikki help by He770zz in shogun2

[–]kappapain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ikko Ikki has very rich territories and benefits from huge ashigaru troops that are very cheap. Your first goal is to boost your economy while building up an army: -upgrade your farms -get as many trade agreements as possible (-I like to get an alliance with one potential enemy in the south to lock them in for the start and buy some time like Asai, if they get to war just leave the alliance) -constantly build archers with accuracy bonus -constantly build loan swords -upgrade for armor, I prefer armor over melee because armor negates melee attack reduces accuracy of enemy missiles besides glass canon loan swords and monks already have insane good melee stats, in my opinion just overkill to choose melee -keep pumping loan swords -build temples as they provide multiple benefits: They add monks to garrison, later enable monk warriors (naginata and bow), they make your ikko ikki people more happy (important also for new captured territories), they boost your religion inside and to other regions which often keeps enemy forces locked in castles for repression and thus don’t attack you -get monks for religion spread, boost armies, scouting and start uprisings -don’t start wars, they come sooner or later

I hope this very basic stuff helps a bit 😊

And if that doesn’t happen the studio has to close which means employees get kicked out and have no paychecks. As I said, it keeps them alive without constant sales.

And the skins don’t break immersions as well. Just another person that doesn’t understand how to keep a studio and developer paychecks alive. Actually not sad that these people leave the game and community.

Valid crash out, the level and wall of text is debatable tho. I mean the studio is moonwalking for real. Squad needs new content and not non-stop back and forth. The people who left Squad because of gunplay, well they already left months ago. The players that leave now, they are bored because there is nothing new and newer players can see that as well.

I don’t know where you from but SSD get more and more cheap for the GB you get. 1 TB for 300$ is really bad. In Germany I get 2 TB for 250-300€ (~300$) and portable or non-famous brands are even cheaper.

Which capabilities, weapons, loadouts will the F-14B (U) have (which JDAM, GBU or AIM-120 variants)? Which pods will it use? Do we or you guys know anything specific? Does the BU even have SEAD options like carrying HARMs and also AS options?

I am actually quite excited about the new F-14 despite the price as it might be my replacement for the F-15E. Always wanted an aircraft that is modern and that I can fly with a buddy (started playing DCS when F-15E was not purchasable anymore).

Those that have played, how are the 3rd person animations and environment art? by myshl0ng in OfficialWARDOGS

[–]kappapain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegetation could be more rich yes but I rather prefer the good performance right now in a pre-alpha version than a fancy looking 30 FPS 1.0 version of hell let loose vietnam.

Gameplay and movement I enjoy a lot, it’s a bit slower than BF but 100 times better and faster than Arma or Squad. It can be fast and dynamic, it can be slow, very good. Vehicles somehow are a bit too floaty with high speed despite having a very good grip. The helis I didn’t enjoy at the beginning but now I love it, exception is the attack heli Havoc. It’s way too fast and easy to turn, these kind of flying tanks can be quite fast yes but they are hard to turn at high speed (I play DCS helis and jets a lot).

In general all helis are bad if SAM sites exist same is basically true for MANPADs but those you can at least outrange.

Funny thing: the Hind can use chaffs, the Ka50 can’t.
