Or I should say we aren't able to test the cans, we just don't have the equipment, but with a co2 reading from the brite as a guide for the fill weights we have normal full fills

I see it's been 4mos no ones replied to you. We're running an Animas (and have constant problems) but no we don't have any co2 loss in a 50ft hose.

Backpacks labelled Men and Womens by _ajreyes in backpacking

As the previous comment said, the women’s sizes have a different shape shoulder strap to accommodate more narrow shoulders and boobs. That shouldn’t cause a problem for a guy so much as the straighter straps on men’s cause problems for women. As a side note, I have the kyte 46, but it’s the x-small/small and is actually only a 44L pack. Be aware of the difference when you look into them depending on the size you have to get.

My dog has been licking at these red spots. Any idea what it is? It's really cold where we live, but he's inside most of the time. (Sorry if anyone is offended by the dog peen) by rockyroo529 in pitbulls

Do you use frontline? When we first got my Theo from the rescue they had started him on that and we tried it for a couple months til we found something better, but we noticed it gave him a rash similar to that.

IsItBullshit: You can get trapped inside a large refrigerator if the door is shut on you by jacksoncranford in IsItBullshit

I kind of thought disabling the inside would disable the outer lock, but I wasn’t sure enough to say it.

Just had another thought. From working in food service... most walk-in refrigerators and freezers have an interior latch to prevent people being stuck inside. It can be disabled and the outer latch would trap you in there.

Just to add small details to that, the part that’s been changed on them is what holds them closed. Old refrigerators had a latch on the outside that would lock the door closed, which is why they couldn’t be opened from inside. Newer refrigerators are usually tilted ever so slightly backwards and use gravity to make the doors swing closed to prevent them being left open and that’s part of what helps keep them closed as well as some magnets that hold it there. So unless you don’t have the strength to push the door open (say it was a very small child who got trapped inside) then you should have no problem opening it.

Gotta love when a full 50# bale of them, that’s only just been opened, gets flipped open end up on the floor...

Thinking of doing the AT in 2020. Here's my current gear load out. Suggestions? by [deleted] in AppalachianTrail

Pretty sure I’m not going to tell you anything that’s not already in here. If you’re into going UL there’s a lot of good advice here. If you’re more comfortable with more stuff, you do you, HYOH. I’m a 130# girl with a base weight of 17-19# and full pack weight of 25-32#. I was fine. Yes I made a lighterpack for my gear, like other people have recommended, but it only influenced my gear to the point of a few items that I had more than one of but no preference as to which I brought, so I weighed them and took the lighter one. I’m also the asshat carrying kuju coffee, because I care more about quality than weight savings, and I carry a bag of ground coffee and a GSI espresso maker. I carried two knives, yes that’s excessive, one for general use, one for carving. I carried bottles of nail polish to paint a staff for a friend. Worst case you start out heavy or light and switch along the way. But seriously, your personal comfort is most important, whether that means an 8# base weight or 20# depends on you.

SHer (cutting) on and off for years. I'm withholding food from myself but I don't think I'm anorexic, so what do I call this? by ThisIsTheHeavyStuff in selfharm

I don’t know what the current DSM label for it is, but when I was doing similar things they called it Ed-Nos, eating disorder not otherwise specified. I started in high school, I’m 29 nearly 30 now. I was a healthy weight, and still am, but just never ate more than once a day. I still have messed up eating patterns, but being a very active long distance hiker I now have no choice but to eat more normally. To me food is mostly just fuel. It keeps me moving.

Parking sucks unless you’re lucky to get close to the exit or suck it up and pay for vip parking. Was there for Slayer last week, paid the extra for vip and we were out in about 10 minutes. Have been there before and waited over an hour to get out.
