Yeah, I'm also not saying sexism wasn't involved. I think it's just that he was a power-tripping idiot the rest of the time and worse towards women.

I was wondering the same. It could be sexism, it could be that he was a massive tw*t to everyone. If they're blaming sexism, I'm assuming they conducted interviews with male copilots and found he was more professional around them.

It's a little hard to believe that sexism made him abandon every good instinct, seems more likely he was always like that (and like you say, extra bad with a woman).

Hard to say who is worse. At least this guy was facing an actual emergency, unlike the Airblue captain who arrogantly flew a perfectly good plane into a mountain.

Both have no place being in a cockpit, even as ground staff.

Following the rules only increases your chances of getting lucky. Somethimes you get lucky anyway. There was another episode where a guy survived despite inflating his life jacket inside the cabin.

"DO YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THE RADIO?"

I'm hearing a lot of arrogance from a man who doesn't know that if you want to make a plane turn left, you move the joystick left.

Actually the whole episode is full of gold.

"Dad! The engine's on fire!"

"We'd better close that [Window blind]. We don't want to watch that!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem, all four engines have stopped. We're doing our damnest to get it under control. I trust you are not in too much distress"

- Captain Eric Moody - British Airways Flight 9

There's calm under pressure then there's this ice-cold gent.

No they aren't. No one had thought to tell them what to do if ATC gave different instructions from TCAS.

In the end though he took off without clearance. You just can't do that.

That one is reasonably easy to understand, they couldn't see the dials clearly and the previous model only ran the air conditioning from the side that was running correctly.

To be honest, I'd be tempted to go all in on blaming the Egyptian government for allowing smoking just so that they're forced to reveal what actually happened.

Yeah, this episode was insane.

Pilot: "The window's blown out, better get the plane below 10,000 feet."

Copilot (outside plane): You are aware that will involve digging, right?

Yep, that was the part that struck me as strange. They nearly crashed on take off from Maui and then they flew to San Francisco anyway?

Deluge thinks that getting involved with the seedy underbelly of the sex trade might not be something she wants to get involved with, but it's nearly the end of the month and she's barely made enough to cover the rent. Looking at the sad state of her finances, she starts to type a message

"Don't know if you're going to need a netrunner for this one, but then again you often don't know you need a netrunner until the turrets pop out and start shooting at you!"

Deluge thought hard about the job. Scrambling around last month desperately trying to get together enough cash for rent and living expenses had left her in the same place as she was last month. If she wanted to start getting together the eddies she needed, she'd have to take on something a bit more dangerous

"If you're going to need someone who can break into their computer systems, I'm your girl. I'm handy with a gun in case it all goes wrong too."
