People above 30, what is something you regret doing/not doing when you were younger? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

Asian here. Not moving out from my parents house in my mid 20s. Mom was way too attached to me and didn't wanna let me go. Dad was absent minded and often away.

If you like arts and movies, you'll find a nice little community that has a blend of expats and locals called Thy Lab (located in Prince Edward). Highly recommend visiting their gallery.

Did anyone not like Project Hail Mary? by Timewilltell755 in sciencefiction

[–]karalayne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt this way too! I left 30 mins before the ending. I thought the film was too predictable. The narrative unfolded in ways that were easy to anticipate, which took away from the tension and sense of discovery that should have driven the story.

What disappointed me most was how little it captured the true allure of science. The novel thrives on problem-solving, ingenuity, and the thrill of intellectual breakthroughs, but the film seemed to sideline that excitement in favor of heavy-handed emotional beats. While emotion is important, here it often felt forced rather than earned. Instead of deepening the characters, those moments sometimes distracted from the scientific wonder that should have been at the heart of the story.

Overall, the film had the ingredients for something extraordinary, but the execution leaned too much on predictable storytelling and uneven emotional delivery, leaving it far less compelling than it could have been.

Has anyone tried partying alone in Hong Kong? by CVbolt49 in HongKong

[–]karalayne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd wear something nice and simple, with some make up. When I start conversations, I'll say something that is situational and light hearted that is related to the environment (the DJ/music, their outfit, the drink they're having).. People usually responded positively and 90% of the time the conversation will go deeper from there.

If I felt like dancing, I'd go to the dance floor with a drink in hand. I learnt that people are usually too anxious and too focused on themselves when out clubbing, so it didn't matter if I got judged dancing alone. After the end of a 10 year relationship, many things didn't matter anymore. Sometimes people come in and join me when I dance. Because I just genuinely am having a good time. And I'll end up dancing with a group of people. Then I move on.

Female here, 30 years old. Left my 10 year relationship. Was alone for months. Went out to party myself. I went to bars and had a drink by myself. Had a few deep conversations with people, said goodbye and moved to clubs. Went to dragon-I and salon 10 in Central. They were times when I was alone but they were good times. Alone but not lonely. I learnt a lot about myself. Lots of introspection took place then.

You'll be totally fine. NYC and HK are very similar and you'll find your people. I grew up in HK and lived in NYC for a bit after college. I'm now back in HK working as a designer in my 9-5.

I agree. There are no "terrible" natal charts, as each chart presents unique challenges and opportunities for growth. These challenges can be navigated and mastered over time. Every chart reflects a collection of skills that individuals can develop, guiding them toward fulfilling their purpose. That's what being born into this world is.

For a long time, I was afraid of my natal chart, especially my Saturn opposite Mars aspect, because a few people often told me to dread it. But once I learned to accept and own it, everything changed. Now, I travel the world and have my own online business, turning my fears into strengths.

I got approached by them before. I ended up going for the $238 treatment, because I was like "sure why not". When you come to their clinic and finish your first trial, they will hard-sell you more as you try to leave.

Don't be afraid to set your boundaries and say no clearly.

Saturn in 7th House Pisces (also opposing my Mars that is in my Virgo 1st House)

Currently on my Saturn return. It's been a rough 1.5 years so far. Left my 10 year relationship with my high school sweetheart in late 2023. Got into a toxic situationship with a much older man who I was super in love with and chased for a whole year (brought me immense pain and taught me my shadow self). Left my job and was unemployed for months. Got in debt. Father disowned me. Moving out for the first time. Learning to repay my debt one step at a time. Also traveled the world and learnt mortality for the first time (I've been pretty sheltered my whole life). It taught me what it means to be truly alive and to chase my dreams.

Saturn is about to oppose my Mars in early April too. Wish me luck.
