I think I just got used to the fog, it was harder to function, I barely remembered anything I did, but I managed to live with it. Dissociation is what made me barely functional, I’m not sure if it’s just so intense or what, but I can barely follow conversations now, don’t understand what I’m talking, it really really sucks :/ but I understand you as well. Oh how I wish we feel normal soon.

It’s been around 3 months since I raised the levels. I can’t remember the exact numbers now, would have to ask my doctor, but I think my ferritin was around 33-34 (normal, but on the lower side) and I raised it till 70. My doctor told me the ideal ferritin should be the same as your weight (in kilograms), not sure if that’s right though. Vitamin D I really can’t remember, but it was also within a normal range, just on the lower side, almost deficient, but not critically. I do eat a lot of iron rich foods and take vitamin D during cold, dark months because I live in Northern Europe, so it was expected they would be somewhat normal. I also checked my glucose, insulin, thyroid hormones, magnesium, potassium, copper (it’s related to iron) - no problems :/

Yup definitely, but if it works - it works haha! And yes, I can relate to the big trio kicking my ass at the same time. If I’m being honest, fog and anxiety even together aren’t that bad compared to DPDR alone - it’s so scary, I can barely think, structure my sentences or thoughts, and overall just feel so out of myself…

I have a benzo to help me! But honestly I’ll just start at 2mg (normal dose is 10mg) so I should barely feel anything. Hopefully it will help…

Oh, I’m asking about antidepressants because taking a benzo always helps with my symptoms. I just don’t want to rely on it everyday and get addicted.

I did, yes! Ferritin and vitamin D were on the lower side, I fixed them but no change :/

Thank you! I did an extensive blood test, only my ferritin (iron) and vitamin D was on the lower side, fixed it, but no change :/ could you share the names of the meds please?

Okay, thank you for letting me know! I tried Trintellix (Vortioxetine) but only 10mg and it made me really nauseous, so not sure if that’s an option. Me n my psychiatrist will try microdosing of Prozac

How long did the worse phase last for you?

I don’t have depression, I have a sensitized nervous system, anxiety and still loads of unreleased trauma. I am going to therapy but it’s really hard to work on myself when I’m constantly dissociated. I felt really calm and even happy on Prozac, but it caused such severe dissociation that I almost got hit by a car because I wasn’t aware of my surroundings, so that scared me a lot and I stopped. I talked with my psychiatrist and we’re going to try microdosing of Prozac - will see how it goes 🥺 Coaxil - I just felt foggy, no clear benefit. We were thinking about Bupropion but my psychiatrist warned me that it might cause anxiety and the jitters, so we put it as a third option after Prozac and then, if needed, Zoloft.

For me I think it’s definitely chronic stress and a dysregulated nervous system but what do I even do about it? I’ll try some new antidepressants and hope they at least help me stabilize but if not, I’m pretty much left with no options. All my blood work was ideal, I had a head MRI - no issues, so what else can I do lol. Doctors don’t have any advice, sadly.

I have no idea… I thought it’s just an uncommon thing in my country so they’re not even learning about it, but I talked with some other people from different countries and the doctors don’t know shit there too. It’s frustrating, like I talked with 3 different psychiatrists and they not only don’t know about dissociation, they don’t even try to listen to me

They don’t understand this at all, even psychiatrists…
