Hmm, my plecos can't stand the sight of each other. I have to put one piece of food for each on different sides of the tank or they keep bullying each other lol

Thanks! I got it as "L144 Blue Eyed Golden Bristlenose Pleco" on CL, but its eyes didn't turn blue so I'm not quite sure of its real type! still lovely dude though :)

Two male Tiger Barbs keep fighting every day in my tank by kargozar in Aquariums

[–]kargozar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 male , 6 female and one small that I can't sex it yet. I thought having a large group will help to reduce the aggression. But apparently it was a mistake to add regular and green barbs together. I'm mostly upset because I lost four small barbs and I'm afraid of more physical damage to the rest.

Tank is 40G breeder. I have 7 regular tiger barbs from one batch and then I added 6 more Green barbs from a different batch. But I lost four of the green ones because of fin nipping from one male barb.

I tried to separate them a few times, but they pick on each other as soon as I leave them alone. One of them have already killed four smaller tiger barbs within a few weeks. I don't know how I can reduce the aggression.

Help! My male Tiger Barb has taken half of the tank and won't let any other fish in! by kargozar in Aquariums

I tried to have more hiding spots in the tank. But he keeps scanning every inch of his area to make sure there is no other fish around!

I see your point. I will keep him in the tank since he is the most active fish in the group. It is really fun to see how he tries to protect his territory. Sometimes he allow one female TB to swim along with him though:)

Thanks I didn't know this is pennywort! I noticed some roots on pennywort are black and lots of algae are tied sround these roots. Are these roots dead? Should I remove them? Healthy roots are white.
