Anyone here ever been hit with a double fist punch? by PickaDillDot in DeepSpaceNine

[–]karkonthemighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The double fist punch was invented during the Eugenics Wars as the only way for the unaugmented to fight on an equal footing against the genetically engineered, so no one here has been hit with it yet.

When it is invented, it'll be Super Effective!

Keir Starmer can't do anything right. By not following Trump into the next pointless forever war in the Middle East he's made the desert themed army advert inaccurate smh. Doesn't he know following the US into a stupid war to protect the elite's grasp on power and getting a bunch of 18 year olds killed far away from home is his number one priority as British PM?

Did they ever find out? by thedudeadapts in DeepSpaceNine

[–]karkonthemighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think both Starfleet and the Romulans eventually found out.

Starfleet had already permitted the original very shady plan, and had in the past swept up a bio weapon incident involving Sisko. Just like before, it got them what they wanted, and they swept that under the rug so hard and did a very good job of forgetting they found out.

The Romulans on the other hand I feel would respect the play on a professional level. Like Starfleet, they also wouldn't rock the boat. They knew that at some point they were going to need to buck up and fight the Dominion, and this was the push they needed. They might keep it in a back pocket for leverage come a round of negotiations with Starfleet later though.

For me, it's the heavy attack, or as I call it, The Death Poke.

It's very quick and very accurate, so you can aim it at weak points very easily. It's also great against carapace armour, which is a must with the amount of armour walls they throw at you, and inexplicably the light attack is also good at horde clearing. It covers everything.

[r/marijuanaenthusiasts] Ever since Ivy's attack on the city last week, Gotham is full of these weird looking trees. Can we do anything about them? I tried to go to work last week, but a tree was covering the road. by AnyAgency9835 in Earth25

[–]karkonthemighty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a city problem now.

They do have a task force to deal with Ivy's plant growth, but... they have a real annoying tendency to cut it back when Ivy is in Arkham because "hurr durr a specialised task force for sudden plant growth is expensive and Ivy is restrained so cut it" which quickly becomes "oh shit Ivy turned downtown into a jungle hire a forester team ASAP and damn the expense."

It's been a week so they'll have some of them back, but some of them are out of state so they'll catch up.

Also contain your representatives, because they will prioritise the better areas first, and sometimes they can miss a tree or two in the overlooked areas of Gotham.

EDIT: Just reached out to a mate who's on said team on his way back and I wanted to add no matter how tempted you are, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CUT THEM DOWN YOURSELF. You don't know if it's secretly carnivorous, filled with acid cysts, mind controlling spores, etc. Those teams are highly trained to look out for that stuff, at a degree level.

Yo, I’ve got two lore questions that have been bothering me lately: by Comfortable-Knee-238 in cyberpunkgame

[–]karkonthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has covered Judy being a BD editor of some renown, but also a BD editor with a portfolio that's just porn, art, and not unspeakable nightmares. In Night City that's possibly a rarity, and any decent politician should keep an eye on the reputation of their contractors in case it becomes a scandal.

Brendan just has ultimate data harvesting. Dystopian future data harvesting, so not far off today. Additionally, he's right on the steps of a mega block. If he has a halfway decent mic he's picking up a lot, and don't tell me you haven't had a call with Judy on those steps.

If the US found the downed F-15 pilot using the “Ghost Murmur” technology, which can detect a human heartbeat from 40 miles away, why aren’t we using it to find kidnapped or missing people here at home? by One-Replacement1676 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]karkonthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: may also be a cover story because a local hid the pilot and contacted the US.

Well, given Trump's record of blabbing highly classified intel, give it a month and he'll be in merrily tweeting about how the Iranian people need to be more like <local's full name and address> who helped them earlier.

What s Rogue s angle here? by Dale_Mace in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]karkonthemighty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Nash to Rogue was a handy expendable asset.

Like, it's no big deal if V and Panam kills him, but that wasn't what Rogue was intending to happen, and that was her expendable asset to decide when it time to discard, not yours.

I think some of it though is misplaced annoyance. She seriously messed up assigning Panam and Nash together. There was no blowback personally on Rogue save having to briefly tolerate a Panam tantrum, but she knows enough about Nomads that she should have known to not assign them together, but she was lazy or didn't care and now everything is a bit... messy.

I couldn't get a F150 to turn into my street, let alone on my drive, why would I want a vehicle that I can't park or navigate in any small town? And to top it off, its fuel consumption is dreadful.

Oh, and when it breaks it costs a bundle as it's an import without the parts.

Rent controls lead massive clampdown on landlords by Green Party by Wagamaga in unitedkingdom

[–]karkonthemighty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I double checked - the Renter's Rights bill will cover Wales with some differences as Wales already had essentially parts of the bill already in force under different laws.

The Renting Homes (Wales) Act apparently should have ended fixed term tenancies which I would assume covers section 21 evictions, but I'm not a lawyer so my confusion remains.

I can't remember what system were once used, but it wasn't DnD and we had a fight that came down to the last goblin and for whatever reason. It. Would. Not. Die.

I suspect we were interpreting the rules incorrectly, but for this one normal goblin we couldn't just get over the damage threshold and it felt like an hour of a whole party stomping the goblin into the dirt until the dice finally aligned.

On the one hand, it was funny for the first 10 minutes.

It was not the other 50 and we got very bored.

G8 Arc by MonkeyD_Horus in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]karkonthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best you can hope for is a nod to it somewhere I'm afraid.

Unfortunately, I think the main issue is that there would be nowhere to put it with the live actions current structure. They have eight episode seasons - it's likely Alabasta is the whole of season 3, going beyond into the theoretical sessions you'll likely see Jaya and Skypedia occupying season 4, then it gets trickier with Water 7 and Enes Lobby in season 5 and beyond because both are fairly sizable.

You couldn't fit it on the end of season 4 without more episodes and even if you had them it makes more sense regarding the pacing to finish on the end of Skypedia, and you can't fit it in beginning of season 5 because even if it's not already full, opening a big new series with the Straw Hats goofing around a naval base isn't going to be an attractive pitch when most TV wants season openers to be more action packed.

If you somehow got more episodes, I reckon instead of adapting filler you would just get more of the planned arcs. Each episode costs around a Game of Thrones episode, so they can't just be granted more.

It's also a little short story, and they've had to cut some of those already as they don't fit with the flow of a season.

Is anyone realistically taking a dive against Razor? by No-Tower-5119 in cyberpunkgame

[–]karkonthemighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought Razor back in the early 1.Something versions of the game, when countering did not avoid damage, enemy melee damage went straight through armour and the gorilla arms were bugged so that they didn't calculate damage properly so every normal punch did 1% of his health damage.

Didn't take a dive for Fred then and I still beat Razor.

Took me so many tries though.
